I'll probably buy one someday but I think it's still important to keep paying my dues as well. I've seen fully endowed lodges and the ones I've seen aren't very healthy.
I just saw and replied to this on Reddit. I'm one of those folks that has a minority opinion so I'll just say do what your conscious tells you is right for your lodge.
Hey brothers, I came across this on Reddit today and thought it was worth sharing.
I was first struck by the small size of the building and the lodge rooms inside it but what they lack in size they make up for in beauty. The furniture and artwork are fantastic, though some pieces would...
I saw that ruckus, it made me smile a few times. :)
I agree about the results. Regardless if the questions were worded poorly or not, I think the answers really show the pulse of the craft in regards to what brethren are expecting and desiring today.
I've found that they are very gifted with choosing angles in their pictures. I've seen many houses that look great but you never see the garbage surrounding it until you get to the house in person.
I went to the one in Waco last year. It was pretty enjoyable and gave me an opportunity to get a feel for the GM's stance on a few issues. If this years are as good as last years then I'd recommend it.
I've heard about lodges using incense during degrees and I think it'd be a great addition. I'm not sure how well it'd be received in my lodge but I'd like to try it eventually.
I was taught during the last paragraph, so 'finally' like you say. I stay uncovered for the rest of the closing until I declare the lodge closed but I've seen brothers recover then uncover again, which seems silly to me. Hope this helped.
I've read it before and I'll probably re-read it once I get caught up with the pile of books in my 'to read' list. It really resonated with me, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it.
I doubt I'll ever buy cable/satellite. There's maybe five channels on cable that interest me and it's not enough to warrant paying for the other 500+ of garbage.
Besides, I watch Netflix when I'm in the mood for TV. If I'm really bored and don't mind minimal commercials then I'll watch Hulu.
Finally got my "C" paperwork last Tues, it was a nice surprise. :)
Working on learning the EA lecture now...I dunno if I'll try for anything more than a C for the immediate future though.
Re: if i came to you lodge on a stated what would
1- Does you lodge serve dinner of light snacks?
Something between the two. We had sloppy joes for dinner for our last stated meeting.
2- Is it dress up coat n ties or casual dress?
Senior officers usually dress nice. The WM and I wore...
