How To Feel Like A Man

Not strictly Masonic (although the gentleman is also a brother) however I thought some of the members here might enjoy this video as it's content does have to do with becoming a better man. I think the idea has some merit. After all, if we sit around waiting to 'feel like a man' then we might...

    Florida Presenting English Certificates?

Even so...that is a very nice certificate!

    Where to find lodge furnishings?

You might check with your GL. I've been told that my GL has lots of furniture that has accumulated over the years. I can't attest firsthand to it but maybe they have a few things sitting around in AL as well.

Purchasing and wearing your own apron.

I don't think there's anything bad about not wanting to wear a lodge old yellow 'lender' aprons. In fact, it's my understanding that you're expected to bring your own apron to lodge in many parts of the world.

    What Degree Is Your Tyler?

See, I was under the impression that the in the GLoTX the Tyler only had to be a MM if it is an elected position. Either way, just be safe and don't elect/appoint anyone that isn't a MM. :P

    Lucifer and Satan

Differences in opinions are to be expected. Peace and harmony is also expected. I can't think of any nicer way to put it, don't allow this thread to degrade any further.

KT mag Limits Letters to the Editor

I haven't seen anything that like that in past issues...besides, we're all adults here. Got my latest issue yesterday and happened to notice that there were no letters in this months issue though, I was disappointed.

    Blue Envelope Campaign

I used to get excited when I got an envelop from GL until I realized I'd never receive anything from them that wasn't a solicitation of some sort. Color me young and naive.

Is Christianity really compatible with Freemasonry?

I really like this and it feels very relevant to some of the threads I've been seeing lately. Thank you for sharing.

The Age Old Question: Is Freemasonry A Religion?

Very true. What someone considers religion can be a very different experience from what someone else would consider to be the same thing. Still, I've never had an religious experiences with Freemasonry. Has it made me a more religious or spiritual person? I'd like to think so, it's certainly...

The Age Old Question: Is Freemasonry A Religion?

Religion deals with the immortal soul and it's ultimate destination. Usually there's a set of rules/guidelines which, depending on how well they're adhered to, will determine how go (or bad) of a time you'll have in the afterlife. Freemasonry doesn't deal with the afterlife. We are taught...

Getting weird vibes at first meeting.

Let's be clear: Are we talking about opening and closing a lodge once a week, or meeting -at- the lodge once a week? There's a significant difference there and I want to see if we're all on the same page on this.

Is Christianity really compatible with Freemasonry?

Those are some interesting questions. I wanted to jump right in with my own answers but they say a wise man listens twice as much as he speaks. I'm going to watch and see what more experience brothers have to say about this...then maybe I'll give my two cents.

Is Christianity really compatible with Freemasonry?

I consider myself to be Christian but I have, and still do, read quite a bit into other faiths...some of which I'm very fond of. I've seen this question asked before elsewhere but I always find myself wondering what there is to reconcile? I've never seen or hear anything within Freemasonry...

Getting weird vibes at first meeting.

Hello! Let me be one of the first to welcome you to our forums. :) It's unfortunate that your first experience didn't live up to the expectations you had set but I find that's easy to do when really looking forward to something. My advise would be to check out other lodges in your area and see...

Grand Lodge of the United States

I, for one, love the fact that my GL is within travel distance so that I can attend, meet brothers, and vote, whenever GL meets up. If we had a national GL then I really doubt it'd be close enough for me to attend or get involved in. We used to hold our own trials at the local level here in...

    Is Freemasonry Prestigious?

Thankfully, I haven't seen any Brothers come to lodge dressed like some of the folks I've seen at Walmart. :) Something that's cheap and easy to get really can't be very prestigious can it? If it's cheap then it's easy to forget about or walk away from and if it's too easy to get into then...

    Is Freemasonry Prestigious?

I'm willing to be open minded about something like this but I'd need something I could read...or some kind of evidence, that this used to be the case...I suspect if it was then it probably got changed around the time of the Baltimore Convention? I've encountered numerous men who've thought the...

    Is Freemasonry Prestigious?

Our society has become much more casual than it once was. Outside of professions (and sometimes within them) everyone is on a first name basis with one another, titles are rarely used (Mr., Mrs.), we wear slippers to go shopping...I could go on. Unfortunately, when you approach something with...
