Rhit, you are such a Traditionalist Radical. Don't make me warn you for posting such controvercial topics.
All kidding aside, that is a great peice of information that I hope will help Brethren of this site broaden their mind.
These are great points and you are truly the exception to the rule. I am not saying it can't happen but why do we do this to ourselves. As you state, even after all this preparation and lessons how can one be ready without life lessons, or in this case Masonic Lessons? I just see the power of a...
Yeah I have reached a point that it is not my job to decide what god that person prays to but that they are good people and they pray to a god. The line says "a supreme being" not Jesus or Muhammad. Too often we are so quick to shun the different when we would be considered different ourselves...
I keep seeing that some Lodges can't fill the chairs. My question though is what good is it that everyone gets a turn at being a WM. Could 3 or 4 Brothers that are Past Masters not just rotate until the others are worthy of the honor. I equate this to the Golden Trowel at many Lodges I have...
I find this alarming. We had a member from the GL LAMP (Lodge Assistance Mentor Program) Committee and he said that more and more you are seeing NEW Master masons being faced with leading the Lodge. It used to be a 10+ year journey and it is now an on average 4 years to the east in Texas Masonry...
This is more or less just for my information thread. I would like to know if you are a new Mason (Raised in the last 2 years) please put any officer position you will hold in the 2010 - 2011 Masonic Year. If you hold multiple positions at multiple Lodges list your highest ranking office.
I actually have one already drawn up Brother Bill. I will send it you via email in the morning. I had it from when we were faced with this awhile back.
There is one with a FREAKING HAMBURGER for Pete's sake. And we can't get a Masonic Plate? That is funny right there. Just about sums up what I have been thinking all along. Of every plate sold Grand Lodge could get $22 if the state agency that it chooses to donate to the GL. That is more than...
So by definition Wingnut you are suggesting by paying a team to put our names on the back of a jersey still falls under "supporting" not "sponsoring"? Interesting. I can buy into that. We don't pay for the fields or give them a meeting place we merely aid them financially.
And I do agree...
Time after time we hear announcers asking why soccer is not the most popular sport in the US and just in case watching a game for 2 and a half hours only for it to end in a tie was not good enough for ya. Here is footage of a few of the refs before a game warming up before a match at the world...
The explanation I got was the same on why we won't associate ourselves with the Boy Scouts. "It is a liability to Grand Lodge and the Grand Master." We don't have control on how the leaders of the organizations are chosen so to protect ourselves from lawsuit we do not "sponsor" the organization...
Just for record. Grand Lodge does not allow distribution of the publications without consent. As a moderator of this site, I strongly discourage any futher discussion on this topic. You just need to await the time with patience.
