    Blake's Sauteed Green Beans

Hmmm, worth a try I do believe.

    Pointing out the Elephant...

Yeah the guys that joined during this time went NPD. Good solution. Lets get em through the Masters so they can just pay dues each year and not show up. Hell why not have one day degrees and put on many at once so there is no ownership or sacrifice.

I don’t think the amount of EA work is the issue. It is an ownership issue. Why would they become involved in something that is not theirs? What do we do with our EAs? Sit them with a Brother one on one every time they come to Lodge while the rest go practice a degree? How much ownership can...

    Pointing out the Elephant...

Personally I think that if you compare what we pay to what we get right now it is overpriced but if you look at other Grand Lodge Programs across the US and England for that matter, we are under priced. If they came to me and said we want to focus on education and we cut all the crap out of our...

To me it starts at the Lodge. The Lodges need to raise the bar locally in ways I have been saying but some need to be "Tradition" changes. We need to get out of the habit of doing things because that is how it was always done. We need to demand answers and continue to ask why? Let’s turn into...

    Pointing out the Elephant...

I personally think this is a top down problem. I would like to see the standard raised on knowledge and leadership. When you crack open a book on Masonry from 1920 the education that is taught in the book is unimaginable. The depth of the symbolism is not taught anymore. Let me rephrase that...

    Swole vs Wal Mart

That is crazy. I haven't had anything to this extent but I did have the Lube dept strip my oil pan drain threads by using a pneumatic wrench instead of a socket wrench. Then try and say it was like that. I have been changing my own oil every sense.

Per Capita for Grand Lodge of Texas

So has anyone questioned why over 12% of our budget went to the Texas Mason magazine? Also why does the Past Grand Masters need a $6000 office expense? What is the Masonic Childrens Day and why weren't the Lodges notified of the day? Just to name a few.

    Proper Apron Dimensions

Personally I am willing to bet there are Lodges all over the state that have illegal aprons. And I for one will not stand for it. Who will join me to bring down all of the apron violators? I won't stop till everylast one has a form 1 filed on them. Who's with me!?! This like many others is an...

The only objection to this I have is that yes are all "members" of Grand Lodge only Past Masters and Lodge Proxys are voting "Members". This requires us to do something we should have been doing all along. Every year at this time guys from all over the state will be coming around to meet with...

Cold of Winter or Heat of Summer

That reminds me of a friends episode where joey puts on ALL of Chandler's clothes then does lunges commando. I know I an not the only one to see it.

Here is the problem with those figures. Right now in America for every dollar a person makes they spend almost $1.08. Debt is at an all time high and in the perfect world your figures would hold true but from a cashflow stand point Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and truly can't find...

Per Capita for Grand Lodge of Texas

But I don't think they count all of the $14.25 since $7.00 goes to charity. They have a budget amount for $525,000.00 which they can tell by a click so I still don't understand how we can't figure membership based on this. At least for an estimate

    Pointing out the Elephant...

I agree with Masonry being too cheap but I feel in order to create an expense like that you must have a $200 - $300 product and I don't think we have that right now. We need to get back to the basics and reinvent the wheel. Nothing new but how it used to be done before it became watered down...

Per Capita for Grand Lodge of Texas

Well as promised I have a copy of the 2010 Grand Lodge Budget and expense report that I would like to share. The message our DDGM shared is there is no more fat to cut but I think after looking at this there is plenty of fat to trim on this pork filled budget. I would like to hear everyone's...

    Pointing out the Elephant...

So for a while we have been looking at different threads that show problems with the administration of Masonry and various states of Grand Lodges. These have taken place in the threads "Per Capita...", "Proposed Racism Resolution", and various others. Many times I have seen people posting...

    Proper Apron Dimensions

In Texas, we have a special dimension that is called out by Law. The dimension is 16 x 16 with a 6 inch flap. I don't have my Lodge Law book. I think it is around Art. 273 or 274. Let me know.
