What I don't understand in this whole discussion is why do masons who like to ride together have to have an officially sanctioned masonic motorcycle club? As others have stated masonry have as little to do with motorcycles as it has with golf, knitting, fly fishing or go-cart racing. And you...
It's an interesting question. To the individual mason in his search for light I guess you can say that recognition isn't that important, but for a lodge or a grand lodge it is everything.
Like it or not recognition is how masonic jurisdictions have historically dealt with each other, and it is...
To be honest I'm getting tired of hearing about this, and I don't even live in Arkansas. I dread to think what the poor masons in that state are feeling. It fills me with sadness that grown men, who presumably have been masons for many, many years can get so filled up with hatred, become big...
It looks really great. A big step forward and excellently done.
What I would love to see on there is more relevant masonic content. For instance the GLoTX laws electronically, the investigation manual, any form that a secretary might need, lists of the books and merchandise one can by from...
Almost a surprise that this hasn't happened earlier, but great that some of our older brethren can get a place to continue working The Craft so close to home.
I'll second what Scialytic says. Whenever we have visiting brethren and they bring their own aprons we always let them wear it. I've never heard about anyone having an issue.
We usually cook and bring breakfast to teachers at a number of schools.
But speaking about being a Vanguard lodge does anyone have the full list of requirements?
It get's more and more interesting I must admit. I find it sad that men in such prominent positions that have been masons as long as hey have cannot come together and reach a solution. I'm in no way close to the situation, but to me it sound like pride is still doing a lot of talking.
I do...
Take your time. Before you are voted in yourself, and then raised to Master Mason a fair amount of time will pass. In this period you will grow and gain better understanding about how you should handle it.
What Crono said above is very accurate, and you will see how that applies.
Personally I have less problems with a brother saying that I believe in Jesus / Allah / Buddhism / Paganism etc. than the other approach of a lodge saying that you MUST believe in a certain religion.
I will agree that a statement in tyled lodge about what a brother believes in can spark...
You'll be surprised how many masons will come out of the woodworks once you join. I had a large number of my colleagues and people I know that turned out to be members once I started looking for it. Even a family member.
Thurse, I don't mean to be impolite, but I still don't have a clue what you are talking about. Could you enlighten us with a little more than 2 lines? Perhaps some background, maybe a link or something?
Your posts tend to be a little vague.
I'd love to hear from the other side and what their explanations are. I have a hard time seeing that they can come up with anything even remotely acceptable, but I also have a belief in that most people generally do what they believe is the right thing. I'd just love to hear how this can be...
A statement like the one above just clearly shows me that you haven't grasped the core of masonry. It's about coming together as men across religion, race, color, political beliefs and what have you to become better men. I agree that we should not let anyone into the lodge just to boost numbers...
