Yah I agree. Watching a chapter or council opening/closing is a sad affair sometimes. Trying to change that mentality in mine and have them leave their books home this next year.

Re: Gay and Bi Brother Masons
I would treat him no differently. If we are to truly meet on the level, and regard neither race, religion, nor creed, then why should we treat sexual preference any different?

I second the motion for Chrono Trigger being the favorite for SNES. That game was awesome. Easily in my top 5 favorite games of all time across all platforms.
Well, I finished The Last of Us last night. What a great story. The ending was very well done (and didn't follow the usual video game...
I haven't played the multiplayer yet, but I hear it's not bad. I'm about 80% (21 hours, yeah I explore everything, hah) through the single player and I personally think it deserves all the praise being heaped on it. The story may have already been done, but the level of detail, emotion, and...
How many gamers are there? I know there are a few of us already. Console? PC?
My current fascination is The Last of Us on PS3. It's ah-mazing. :D
What are y'all playing?
2 things: it's a nitpick, but the term "raised" is for master mason"; you were "initiated" an EA. secondly, different jurisdictions do different things. Your question is better suited for your mentor/instructor.

Oh absolutely. I meant save hitting the masonic books until after becoming a master. Then diving in and consuming masonic knowledge beyond your initial instruction.

Learn by doing. Study not by reading about the masonic experience in a dusty volume, but by experiencing it yourself. Find a lodge, meet brothers, be initiated, labor in the quarry. Then when you have been raised, then, seek further knowledge in masonic resources.

Ill say kinda what I said before: suppose my grandfather was a major in the army yet I am only a PFC. It does me proud to wear his majors stripes and regalia. Would other majors take offense?
Of course the above is hypothetical, but you get the idea. Wearing what you have not earned, does a...
In regards to with or without the "G", I would follow the norm of your jurisdiction.
Apparently, in some countries there are EA/FC rings that it's cool to wear, but it's still not kosher here. Likewise what Bro Doug said about the PM symbol. While it might be more stylish in one jurisdiction...
Well I conferred my first degree tonight on our newest EA. Gotta say, it's a great feeling putting on a quality degree. Almost as good of a feeling as it was going through it. Anyways, I'm still on a bit of a high from it. Very cool experience.
EDIT: man, oh man. you guys are right. It is HOT...
Yeah man. I know it seems convenient and all, but do yourself a favor and skip the phone, email, Facebook or whatever and go find these men face to face. It's often quicker and ultimately more gratifying.

Thank you for sharing that. A most fascinating read, if only a summarization of a larger whole. Especially in light of some of my own experiences in the past that I've never *fully* endeavored to explore/explain.
I put "mainstream" in quotes like that because "mainstream" is a misnomer. Of course both are indeed mainstream, but (as ive said in other posts) in the absence of a term to differentiate non-PHA, a lot of folks use "mainstream". It's not meant to imply that prince hall masonry is somehow niche...
According to my blue lodge and chapter secretary, you do NOT have to be a member of a chapter to take the Past Master degree, nor does it make you a YR mason. You do not have to petition a chapter for it nor pay dues. In fact, my chapter conferred it on a couple guys from a nearby blue lodge in...
I would be most interested to read that study should it ever be published. I am on the fence about the issue personally. I feel as though there are spirits/energies/demonic forces present in our world, but unclear as to their interaction with our plane of existence.
