a brother af small stature died and gave the lodge many masonic items. the fez fits my son and i thought the brother would appreciate my boy using it rather than setting in a closet. he thinks he is a shriner and i love it. i remember as akid playing with my dads fez and scottish rite hat...

i agree with what your saying but, if i am going to spend a night away from my house(with work i get very few) the last thing i want to do is here a bunch of bunk about what time we eat or what color we will paint the lodge. when masonry started in the US it was progressive. people did things...
I will find out and ask some questions. Im sure the shrine will do what is best for the kids. I have been told by several people that the shrine system stretches a dollar further than anyone. It is a shame on how masonic organizations have taken such a pounding throgh rough times

what kills me about our q&a is %90 of masons cant awnser 10 questions. Most lodges have the same guys that have to teach all the q&a to their candidates(which can cause burn out). if this is all so important why cant more people help teach or even awnser one question from the trial and...
im not sure if im awnsering your question or not but all prince hall lodges are free and accepted. this dates back to the grand lodge who they got their charter from which is traced back to the grand lodge of england.
