First sorry for the confusion from some of the respondents, the automatically think that if you are asking about a lodge in a former occupied country, then you must be military.
I have been studying Freemasonry in the middle east and southwest Asia (Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan). If you could...
This could be a comfort level thing, and far more on the individuals personality than anything else. I wrote in another thread that a brief co-worker of mine was a Mason, and when I went up to him and talked to him about it he completely shut down on me and denied he was a Mason, even though he...
The first was presented to Clark Lodge #101 from a brother visiting from Scotland in 1993. The second is the Knights Templar apron that was traditionally worn before the bastardized Navy uniform. It was worn by the first Grand Commander of Ohio out of Springfield, OH.

I tend to keep my involvement in the Craft on the down low, not hid it, but not overtly advertise it. There are a couple of personal reasons, but a lot of it has to do with upbringing. If asked I will tell people that I am a Freemason, and talk to them about the craft, but I don't seek others...
As we finish up our series on the Rite of the Black Eagle, it is interesting to note that the drama of the first portion is similar to the second. The preamble if you will for the candidate before he is to receive the final degree is interesting in the twists that the Order took over some of...
The Shrine believes its own hype and has become victim of its own charities. You want to have a fun, wear a fez and just hang out with Masons? Join the Grotto. No crushing overhead, no 200 clubs to join. Just fun, and giving to fight tooth decay for special needs children.
The evolution of...
This is generally how our society is outside of Freemasonry. Google has made everyone an instant expert on everything, so really the joy of learning is becoming a parrot of someone else's view points. Reading others esoteric thoughts on Freemasonry can be enlightening, but you have to...
It should be up to the Master Mason, I know that the blue lodge is our foundation, but lack of activity in Blue Lodge being blamed on apendent bodies is some what misleading. Though when ever I am approached or asked to join the Scottish Rite or York Rite I do encourage the man if he is newly...
No, it is playing the odds. Two of the Grand Lodges listed are the GLNF reincarnated, if one of the 4 gets recognition, then all four will become regular. This quadruples their chances of being recognized.

Yeah, it was based off access to the train, and all trains at the time went through Waco. Even the oldest member agrees, unless they are projecting some grudge...

Excellent point, when the Grand Lodge was established in Waco, it was because all trains passed through there, but who takes the train anymore? I mean beside hipsters. Getting flights to Austin, Dallas, Houston is far easier than anything to Waco.

I live in San Antonio and would be happy to help, I am not in your area, but can look into putting you into contact with the lodge that you are wanting to visit.
Hit me up with a private message, and I would be more than happy to help.

When I find myself not writing for long periods of time, I get stagnate, then I don't want to write out of the anticipation of writing, it is a complete mess. The cycle of not writing feeds to the procrastination of future writing. Getting out of the habit of writing makes for lack of proper...
