Just read all your posts on the site. They are off topic and really close to spam..

    Learning Resources for an EA

Greetings Brother Anderson I would echo Bro Winter - don't go wreaking anything in your future Degrees... There are some good sources suggested above (but remember, you are often not reading "fact" but opinion and/or common interpretations), but if you are a beginner and interested in History...

Sorry to read that.... but you have the right idea - keep with it, and patience !

    Maine Masons

The best way of thinking about the etiquette of masonic correspondence is peer to peer or within groups with someone in the group being about to write outside it. Members can informally write to members. Only GSec should write to other GSecs (or their reps). GM to GM. WM to WM etc. A big factor...

    New (Texas) York Rite Companion...

I am a Companion but under a Grand Chapter. I'm always focusing on the likely next office I will find myself in... but the Open and Close is an obvious place to start so you know who is who in the lodge room in regards to officers..

Dagger related to the Free Mason Help needed

More - in the damage section closer to the hilt, there seems something which looks like a pair of pliers. My jury is out... the Compasses (in unusual configuration) I spent a bit of time looking at.. wondering if the item to the left was pruning shears... probably not.... All I could say is it...

    One Sentence Description of Freemasonry

Here is another good sentence I just read: "The focus of the teachings of the Craft are on living an upright and honourable life and applying a moral philosophy that encompasses personal development" Came from a Supreme Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons Victoria booklet.

You can google.. but the best thing to do is to contact the Grand Lodge in the state where he lived. Give them his full name and date of birth.

Reading, Pennsylvania Scottish Rite Cathedral Damaged By Fire

Looks like another hate crime. If we were some sort of ethnic or religious minority, these stories would be spun in a different way, but hate crime they often are...

    Re-entry into londge

And if you don't have the contacts of the Secretary, write to the Grand Lodge and request them. I wish you every success in rejoining the Craft.

    Searching for Information

Newspapers can also be really handy as a quick way to have a look and see if lodges put death notices in. They often did here in Australia, probably would be the same in the USA.. but Winter is correct, Grand Lodge records are the most definative ...

How to contact my nearest lodge grandmaster

Being persinsitant is good advice, especially in that location. I would use email and write them a letter explaining why you want to be a Freemason.

Traditional Observance Lodge in Houston, TX

You know it's a necropost ... but I kinda like keeping this thread alive. TO lodges evolve and I enjoy reading the history. I get some of the original posters may not be around.. but still.. Interestingly one of the lodges used as a model here in Victoria for this is actually in trouble and not...

Gently nudging a prospect to join

I think it is simple, people can't join us if they don't know we exist.. and men will be more likely to join if they understand the true benefits of being a mason... so talk about what you like about being a Freemason.

Hello from not so sunny Glasgow

Not sure here. While we don't do ceremonial on line here... we have embraced ZOOM meetings, not only for regularly summoned business meetings, but also committee meetings on line.

The meaning of being a freemason?

Coach's advice is very good. We do not have a monopoly on being a good organisation... but also, we're a fraternity and not a service organisation. Freemasonry (I think) is a philosophical system for good moral conduct that brings diverse men together in fraternity. Also, we don't work...
