    Fraternal Greetings

    Welcome! Which lodge in Scotland?

    The widows son.

I'm not suggesting they have a mother but more importantly lost a father ie the pope and their faith in the church as they knew it. In essence they became the son of a widow because their father as they knew it died on oct 13th. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Freemason Connect HD mobile app

    The widows son.

Ever take that phrase and analyze it from a religious standpoint? I know there is no solid link to the templars but it is interesting how they lost (or were abandoned by) the priests/pope of the catholic church when Clement ordered the templars to be dissolved. Were priests called "father," in...

    Your Ring

you could just say you put it on every morning and the gaotu determines which way the S/C points that particular day.

Failed first attempt to prove up on the EA

We do the same. If someone freezes in lodge the other master masons vouch for him so he can continue on. One is usually a ritualist and the other your mentor or examiner for that evening. The third is usually the worshipful master. Edited: if requested to "test out" before going up stairs.

    Church Objection?

I would not tell my church that I'm a mason. Also, we're supposed to hold God above all so does that mean we yield to freemasonry if our church tells us to or do we then seek god in our own way, leaving the church and remaining a freemason?

I feel like I'm back in calculus... simplify f(x+h)-f(x)/h Sorry for steering the thread in the wrong direction.

    Prince Hall Masons

Not to sound cliche but we cant say for sure without being in the mans head. He could have been in a rush, preoccupied or just skeptical of your intentions. Are you a ms mason in jersey?

How to make sure your lodge is legit?

A big clue that a lodge is not legit is if they are flat out asking you to join. I showed an interest in masonry to a close friend and he never once asked me to join. I had to actually ask him and he said he was waiting for me to ask for a long time. Are you US military or a mid eastern man...

What to do when event turns anti-masonic

this. My only concern is family quarrels. You can walk away from ignorant strangers but close friends and family is a different story. The best I can suggest for friends and family with questions is masonicinfo.com. Ask them to read it and then pick up the conversation at a later date.

    UGLE ... London

/sarcasm on Each state is its own sovereign entity so are we not all "international" when it comes to grand lodges? :w00t: /sarcasm off

    New master masons.

I would have had zero issues staying an EA and an FC for longer amounts of time if Lodges in the States opened on the First Degree along with dues and the right to vote.

    Dues Card

That is crazy given the numbers of masons in the world. I would play the lottery if I were you. At least he tried but why did his wife throw it away? I hate when my wife throws things away that I set aside. *I think I just answered my own question!*

    Cipher books

Is oklahoma a mouth to ear state or a cipher state? In nj we are given a cipher to study for tbe relavent degree we are on. Only after being raised can we ask for thr full opening, closing and full workings of the lodge. We are not allowed to have them in open lodge or during instruction...

Why do people leave/ become inactive?

I agree it is cryptic but I think it is cryptic in its own right and not the way it is portrayed by sensationalistic shows.

Why do people leave/ become inactive?

Some may watch shows on the History Channel and feel that being a Freemason is cryptic in some way and that you will be shown the underbelly of society. I watched a three hour Youtube documentary "Freemasons Revealed" and some of the claims by anti masons are ... wow. Now, who knows what goes...

    Freemasonry in Politics

I don't want to hear, "They must be on the Obama plan, permanent unemployment and we get to pay for them." at dinner or lodge whether I agree with them or not. However if tyranny is present, it is our job as masons to act.

    Once or Twice a Month?

Stated meetings every 2nd and 4th monday. I have yet to attend one though as I was raised on an emergent communication and then the lodge went dark for summer break.
