    Masons on Xbox Live....

Think of your third degree if you've been raised.

    Masons on Xbox Live....

heh... I could not imagine playing CoD with fellow masons. There would be no death. Everyone would be throwing up T.G.H.S.O.D.

Do you consider others from unchartered lodges your brother?

These lodges are most likely made up of men who quit the fraternity because they were at odds with the landmarks or were expelled for some reason or another. These men now form lodges and catch unsuspecting people with genuine intentions. The lodge however is at odds with our regular/recognized...

Solicitation of funds from Grand Lodge of Texas AF & AM

While I agree with your sentiment, history has proved over and over what large corporations and governments have done. Politics are not to play a part in Masonry but you're seeing what politicking does in the organization and it is not limited to masonry.

    It's official

dual by definition (not masonic definition) is 2. Dual wielding pistols, axes, etc ... Plural by definition is multiple...More than 1. Some jurisdictions may only allow 1 lodge at a time. Some might only allow two. The term "should" be dual but I bet there are GL's that use plural here...

    I am a 3rd degree Mason

Given my experience with message forums, I'm almost ready to just edit my original reply above and call this one a troll.

    I am a 3rd degree Mason

Edited: I reread my reply and it seems harsh. I do not know you personally so take what I have to say about what could/would happen with your experience with a grain of salt. I feel sorry for you in a way. I learned about freemasonry through conversation with a mason who warned me not to...

    Infectious negative energy

Is his displeasure job related or does he have a general displeasure with life? Have you socialized with him outside his work setting to see what kind of person he is?

    Masonic tattoos

I would make sure your stars have the correct amount of points before going to skin. I'm not going to get into how many or why as I'm not sure that info is for masons only.

Pope says that Masonic Lobby worse of a Problem than Homosexuality

I have read otherwise. I will dig up a link. It had to do with the church punishing a mason under the french lodge. Nm: after rereading the source, it was not from the rcc

1 Day Chance To Advance Classes

NY has a 6 month period between degrees? That has to be rough. Many if not all states open in the third because of the incident in the 1800's so lodges could keep out pretenders to keep them from spying on the lodges to see where the money went. However I would not mind seeing lodges open in...

1 Day Chance To Advance Classes

I went through the degrees and we have a PM who loves to talk about masonry. A few weeks after each degree, he holds a class for the degree we just went through. He breaks down the OB, lecture and charges to plain english and makes sure we understand what they mean. I would not have such a...

    American Pickers

man my instructors were way off if that is a masonic handshake. The only thing that is missing is the curtsey and kissing of the top of the hand.

Need a little wisdom from members

The only two works I would read before becoming a mason would be, "freemasons for dummies," and "idiots guide to freemasonry." Anything that divulges ritual or work that is conducted behind a tyled door should be avoided. An example I can think of would be born in blood which uses examples from...

    How do you respond

Just as men cannot join a sorority women cannot join a fraternity.

    American Pickers

I have seen chum give one of the various modes to certain appraisers that get called in from time to time. The old man and father are most likely masons but I highly doubt that Corey is a mason.

1 Day Chance To Advance Classes

I think it has its place. Military men for example should be eligible for ODC. I will never ask someone if they were a ODCer though. I chose to go through the degrees on the advice of a friend who sparked my interest into the fraternity. I went through each degree with one month (28 days) in...

What is the significance of the different compass and rules?

It doesn't matter which point is raised in my JD.
