An update to the breakfast... We served for 2 hours, and raised a total of $165.00 clear. We invested $100.39 in mix, drinks, and so on including plates, cups, utensils. The $165.00 was after deducting the costs. Not bad for a small town, a small Lodge, and a LOT of great hungry folks :-) We...
I have "Petcock's" card here in front of me. He made a trip to Hearne, and met a friend of mine downtown, and asked about the location of our Lodge. My friend told him where it was, and about me. Jim left a couple of his cards for me. I made contact via email concerning the FMRC, and he was very...
Congratulations!!!! I am sure there will be more donations made, as I have not gotten mine there yet. I LOVE doing this stuff, and is one of the reasons I finally entered Masonry. I will look forward to pictures of the event, as well as the Pink Mohawk...
A good friend of mine said his position as a Justice of the Peace was boring, but always enjoyed riding on the weekends with me... Then we had another friend who was a boring attorney, but was always excited when he came to my autobody shop, and watched some of my custom work... This should make...
Nick, I have a similar situation. I was dared to cut my hair one year. We raised around 1400.00 to do it. Now it's called "Hippie's Annual Haircut" for the Relay For Life. This year, one of the gals at the local newspaper office suggested I dye it Pink, and wear it a while before cutting it. I...
Thanks Rob, I will be posting a notice in the local papers. Since we are a small and rural area (entire county), the highlight of the week is to get to town on Wednesday, and by a copy of the local Weekly paper :-) I had a BIG change in life to make when I moved here from "The Big City", but it...
I am for the research, and medical benefits, as long as there are strict guidelines, to prevent the "re-writing" of DNA, and no life HAS to be lost to get it. There are several ways to gather the cells, one being the use of a persons own cells. It can also be collected from the umbilical cord of...
We hope to make it a fundraiser. Our main goal is to get some of our Brethren to come by, and spend some time, as well as perhaps be able to let the public know a little more about us. At one time, our Lodge was a pretty well known, and from what I hear, it had a fine degree team. Many of those...
Hearne's Golden Rule Lodge 361 is going to have a Pancake Breakfast Saturday May 2nd. It will start at about 8 A.M., and go until about 10 A.M. The location is the Downtown Steakhouse and BBQ. It is a restaurant located in the downstairs of our Lodge located at the intersection of 4th and Cedar...
Welcome to another "transplant". Brother Joey, wife and I have talked about a trip your way in early October, kind of an educational time for our youngest daughter. They both have taken a liking to Texas history, especially anything dealing with Masonry. Maybe some of the others would like to...
Have you any training, or certifications in Law Enforcement? Texas does require a certification program and licensure to be an active Peace Officer. Many of the larger cities provide an academy for you to attend, as well as Texas DPS (State Police). Once you complete the academy, you take the...
I have travelled around a good bit thanks to military, and other projects over the years. After my Dad passed away, I decided I wanted a warmer climate other than Indiana, so I set out for a place I had been stationed. I ended up in Johnson City, Tx. with some of my kin. I got a job in Austin in...
For Amateur (Ham) Radio, you must show a copy of your current FCC issued license. With Ham Radio, your license can be easily confirmed online, but I think the use of the dues card, or a letter of some sort from your Lodge, or Grand Lodge might be useful as well. I'm for it.
I have not yet been to many Lodges, but the ones I have visited have them in place. I think they should be in place. I have also heard there are many Lodges that are not setup in actual East to West, mainly because of space restraints. If that is the case, I guess it is OK, but feel they should...
