there really is a LOT there in the EA. I know you'll enjoy your FC too, but I don't think your head will explode quite yet, lol. The hard work is totally worth it, IMO.

When you get a chance, you might want to check out "Building Boaz." It's a treasure trove of EA connections, background and "other" Light not shared in Lodge.

Congratulations on your Entry into the Craft!

That's why I love the EA degree so much-- It doesn't hold back one bit in terms of "Bam. You're a Freemason now-- here's what you need to know." As far as "barely scratching the surface," you'll hear the same thing from brothers who have been Masons for 50 years-- building a perfect ashlar is a never-ending quest. If you think you're done, you're doing it wrong.
And speaking of other brothers, never ever ever, not never, not once ever forget that you're not in it alone; You're a proud new member of an ancient FRATERNITY, meaning "Brotherhood." You will always have other brothers to rely upon for instruction, guidance, and comfort.

Focus on each degree as you progress, and build a basic understanding as you go. Check out CoachN's books and Carl Claudy's Introduction to Freemasonry series. After you're Raised, you'll have a lifetime to go back and dig into each degree in exhausting detail.

Welcome and congrats on your EA. It does seem like there is so much, especially when you are trying to find the meaning of everything, but as everyone else has said, your head won't explode...lol As Bro. Tony said, one bite at a time. You will have a world of knowledge available to you and a whole lifetime to get into the nitty gritty of things and all the more advanced stuff. You will enjoy it. One good thing about Masonry that I have found out, is that there is enough information out there that you will never be bored...lol There will always be more that you can learn about and do to better yourself and the fraternity. :)
