DC FAAM?

I went to the GLoDC to read the statement on GA and TN and noticed that they call themselves FAAM. Is this Free And Accepted Masons? if so what is the difference between that an F&AM? They just use the word instead of the symbol? wouldnt that make ever F&AM also FAAM and AF&AM states AFAAM? does anyone know?

Random spelling variation of an acronym. It hammers in the lesson that those acronyms often have little of now meaning except to help us locate a jurisdiction's contact page and be sure we got to the correct jurisdiction.

I wondered the same thing about the Grand Lodge of D.C., as well as why the Grand Lodge of South Carolina uses AFM (Ancient FreeMason).
