Grand Lodge of Arkansas dictates upon Shrinedom

Harmony...May Brotherly love prevail. May the spirit of Freemasonry soften the hearts of those who pride has become so sharp that it would cut them from ear to ear.

Why is it so hard to get Masons to join the Commandery?

That's just messed up. I hope all turned out for the best!

Excellent point! He also didn't mention that in his rant on his site.

I like the drum rolls in Death Metal, but the vocals are atrocious and the lyrics, well they depend on the band...if you can even understand them...Napalm Death is ok...

Can a Jewish Brother Wear a Yamaka in a Lodge Room?

Agreed, I don't see the Yamaka the same as I see a hat. It is of a religious nature as you said to show their servitude to their God, and as such, I would respect it as being a part of their very being, as I am sure they see it too.

    metal fans

I am Metal, Punk, Reggae, Hip Hop, classical kind of guy. I can chill to country with my Texas peeps but I admit it took some getting used to and I don't own any cd's or put the country station on in the car....although I do have some college memories of a bottle of Johnny Walker, some...

    Skull symbolism

I couldn't agree more. While it is nice to make a fashion and style statement, it is VERY important that when utilizing the Masonic symbols as adornments and jewelry that we as Masons are at the ready with knowledge. When questioned, it would be nice if a brother Mason could emulate the...

are pha lodges considered blue lodges?

While I do see your point, I think that by loosing the distinction of affiliation, we will loose some culture along with it. I am a fan of allowing dual membership...and of course mutual recognition.

Brothers what is wrong with this picture.

I think that instead of going on the defense, or offense in this matter, I would research the fraternity at hand, talk to some of its members, ask them what they know about the symbols and how they came to symbolize their fraternity. They might just be trying to emulate a wonderful fraternity...

    illuminati

I don't think JVarnell meant you in the literal sense of the word meaning JustinScott, but I think he meant that when one attempts rebuttal of such claims, the perception is one of going on the defensive, so it's pretty pointless to argue with people who have already made up or closed their...

    illuminati

I'll say, the fact that only one man is wearing a hat is a bit of a brow raiser, however, when I look at the picture, it doesn't look any lodge I have been in, but of course, that picture depicts a totally different era so I can't b sure. I know if it was today, I would have to say...

The Penalty for missing a study group...

I would think that as long as you are able to pass proficiency, attendance in study group should optional...but I am not in TX. In CT we have "Lodge of Instruction" night coupled in with Ritual rehearsal. Attendance is optional, unless of course you have a part in an upcoming degree, in which...

    Does Masonry cause Marital conflicts???

I think you are twisting the point. You aren't asked to take off your wedding band to symbolize a loss of connection with your spouse...but you take off your school ring, your necklace, earrings, glasses... I won't go into the lessons or into any other details as not to cross the line of...
