    Opening in an EA

I agree. EAs and FCs will eventually get to sit in on the meetings as long as they progress and can still come to floor school nights and the like to learn the work. It's less about "denying" them to right to the meeting and more about the stability of the lodge/meetings. The EA/FC presence...

    Opening in an EA

This same issue continues to be a thorn in my side. It's really not fun to keep having to write "EA friendly" masonic education every time. Although there is plenty to write on and I'm more than pleased to do it, I'd like to present Master's level topics from time to time.

    Feeling offended

I do not feel the need to hide my affiliations at the workplace and I would go so far as to say that if I felt I had to, I would be the target of harassment. Don't forget that there is a flip side to that opinion coin. YOU are entitled to yours too.

    Feeling offended

Everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless of how unfounded it is. Most folks like that aren't even aware of who we are and what we do; they are just blindly regurgitating something that was second-hand told to them and not even thinking for themselves. If a Jehovah's Witness handed me a...

Did you hear about the joke Tony Romo told his receivers? ....... It went over their heads. :19:

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso Yes. I don't even see a problem with us being a conduit for charity. But when it transitions from being secondary in focus to primary, it has gotten out of scope.

    Preserving aging aprons?

Keep them dry, flat, and out of direct sunlight. That should help keep it from cracking, curling, an yellowing. You could frame it under glass for sure.

    Georgia Guidestones

I looked for one too but don't see anything. They're meticulously crafted because a stone company was commissioned to make it. The patron is the anonymous part. A couple phrases and things stand out as masonic ideals (or even hermetic one could argue), but most don't seem to have masonic...

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso At the core of it all, I believe it is an attitude problem. Fix that and the product will fix itself.

Results- 2013 Texas Grand Annual Communication

I'm less irked over this one. They want to put a hold on them until they come up with a uniform way to conduct them. That's an okay compromise I guess. Granted, they've been allowed for some time so why ban them for a year? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Just set the committee to work this year...

Results- 2013 Texas Grand Annual Communication

I could totally picture someone saying that, ugh! So because most lodges do not give long form lectures, will someone take exception to long form degree lectures being given because it creates a disparity? Oh wait, they're already frowned on in the name of "keeping it simple". Arguably, the CoR...

Yah I caught the Ashlar ban. Sad really. Glass half empty or half full... Guess you could keep the Ashlars if it was normal lodge decoration, just don't point to them in a degree. Lol

Shucks. I was hoping that the wording had been amended. Yeah pretty much right. I'd still argue that robes would be more conferring officer dress and less paraphernalia. I doubt anyone would call 18th century colonial period costume paraphernalia. But like you said, it really depends on the CoW...

Results- 2013 Texas Grand Annual Communication

As I recall, the intent of the recommendation was to 86 CoRs, which it indeed does. However, the placement of the word "therein" is the crux of this new rule. Is it meaning paraphernalia used therein during the preparation of the candidate? Or does it mean paraphernalia used therein during the...

Visitation Between Prince Hall and Regular Lodges

Re: Visitation Between Prince Hall and Regular Lod Hmm I see. I wasn't there, only getting second-hand reports. Perhaps the visitation issue isn't as hot of a topic across the state as we think it might be? I know in my lodge, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who ever discusses it at any length.

    Has this occurred?

Interesting. I'm about 10 min or so down the road from there. I've been meaning to swing by and see the museum anyway. EDIT: I wonder if it's still by appointment only. They don't even post a phone # on the museum website (or the MWPHGLoTX site either, :P ).

Visitation Between Prince Hall and Regular Lodges

Re: Visitation Between Prince Hall and Regular Lod Is it possible for what happened this year to happen again and again in the future? That is, a formal committee's report and thus empowerment can be diminished by not being able to speak at Grand Lodge?
