As with anything dealing with a foreign jurisdiction, your first point of contact must always be your own Grand Lodge, usually through your Lodge Secretary. Otherwise you risk putting yourself afoul of your own GL regulations. That being said, there are already numerous venues that have been...
I agree. And I would ammend the argument that the most important point made in the article is the individuality of each degree as a part of preserving the initiatic process. Lumping candidates in together and performing degrees for multiple candidates either simultaneously or even separately all...
An excellent article this morning on The Midnight Freemasons by W. Bro. William H. Boyd about how important it is for each new Freemason to experience each degrees and returning their catechism individually. I couldn't agree more. One Day Classes, running multiple candidates through together...
Can absolutely confirm how different they are! Having transferred my SR membership from the NMJ to the SJ I was pretty stunned to find out just how different they are. Also, the Master Craftsman Program run by the SJ is amazing.
Nobody here is going to open a Lodge in Indonesia. Indonesians would have to become Freemasons and then get a Grand Lodge to charter Lodges there. I do not know of any currently recognized Lodges there. Freemasonry in predominantly Muslim countries is always rare or nonexistent. There is...

Many years ago a close friend and Brother from the UK showed me the Master Mason certificate he received. It folded up into a small hard cover booklet. I have always thought that was one of the most interesting things I had seen. I just came across this Ebay auction as an excellent example...
The officers of that Lodge like so many others, likely tried to hold onto the building far past their ability to maintain it until it was too late. Instead of selling it when it was still a usable building and making some funds for the Lodge. Sad to see and I still see it all the time.
If you want an honest no nonsense read on the basics that leaves out all the myths and sensationalism then I can't recommend Brother Hodapp's book enough...
You're absolutely correct Brother, I wasn't at your Commandery meeting to hear what was said. I was responding more to the letter from the MW Bro. Dymchuk that Brother Keith posted, which is what I thought your Commandery was discussing, that calls for assistance in the form of asylum of...
We need a new program that operates like Lubavitch Chabad missionaries where a handful of Masons move to an area where there is no regular Freemasonry and they set up a Lodge. :)
