I hadn't has the chance to see any of the degrees from the sidelines since I got my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees.
This week, a local lodge had a 3rd degree , and I was able to drive over and sit in and watch.
It's amazing how much you don't see while it's you getting the degree! I was every bit...

Let me know when #2 does any of the three degrees and I will come up. I haven't had the chance to see a degree from the sideline yet, and would love to visit historic #2!
Weird...I know I replied to this the other day, but I don't see it.
Welcome Mike! I was raised just south of you in Orland last month. There was a member From Shasta #2 there (don't remember the name though).
This was brought up at a District Officers meeting I attended this week.
One person brought up that it is essential that the candidate investigation committee meet with the potential member and explain exactly what masonry is, what will be expected for them.
It was said that many new...
This is the stuff I carry 99% of the time, and have on me right this second.
The only thing missing is my sunglasses, which I left on the dash of my truck.
S&W .38 cal
Cold Steel Pocket Shark pen
Wallet
iPhone
keys
wedding ring
mason ring
4 lonely pennies
Thanks Dow!
I got your address, and will send it out tomorrow (I'm in training all day today and can't get to the post office).
Enjoy, sign, and pass it along...who wants to be next in line?

I understand that the 3rd degree isn't the end of the journey, but it is the culmination of 7-8 months of hard work :)
I was appointed to the Junior Steward position at my 1st lodge meeting last week(installation is Saturday), so the work is just beginning (again)!
I purchased a copy of The Hiram Key and have finished reading it.
I was hoping to pass it along to a member here, who would pass it along to another member when they are done.
It would be fun if each member signed the inside of the book and noted their state and home lodge. An occasional...
After pulling my hair out for 3 days, I think I found an online solution though Avery (of course it was less than an hour after I finally broke down and asked for help here lol).
Be safe!

I am attending a conference in April, and have been appointed to a committee (well, I AM the committee) that makes the name tags for the 200-250 attending certificates of attendance for afterwards.
I scoured the web, and figured out how to make the certificates by getting the names of the...
I received my 3rd degree two weeks ago, and tonight was my first 'real' lodge meeting as a Master Mason. I have only been in the lodge a few times (1st degree, degree proficiency, 2nd degree, degree proficiency, and the 3rd degree).
I arrived and was greeted by several familiar faces, including...
Whoohoo! It took nearly a year (my small lodge needed lots of practice for all 3 degree teams), but I was finally raised last night at California Orland laurel Lodge #245!
Afterward, we all congregated for refreshments and I was presented a masonic bible with my wife in attendance.
It was a...
