if i remember correctly, chalk was used to facilitate the flow of molten brass, charcoal was used to heat the clay to extract the ore... but tbh, coach, I hadn't even connected those uses with HA until your question! very cool.
where does one find out when and where the certifications are? I know i missed the one at Lewisville this year, but I would like to try and make one of the other ones... I know I can get a C... I'd really like to try for a B, but i think that'll be next year. My current plan is to do a C this...
i intend to snag one of the 14th degree rings at the next stated meeting. I picked up a nice (yet cheap) stainless steel ring like this one... http://bit.ly/fml71v cause it looks cool. It kinda looks like heavy metal jewelry, even lol.
there really is a LOT there in the EA. I know you'll enjoy your FC too, but I don't think your head will explode quite yet, lol. The hard work is totally worth it, IMO.
