Re: Straight, Double Edge Safety, or Cartridge Raz
I'm a safety razor guy myself most of the time. It feels like a higher quality shave and the replacement blades are dirt cheap so I save a lot of money as well. :)
I don't see a point in worrying about outside opinions. Once an organization starts trying to impress outsiders it loses it's focus IMO.
I'm curious why the CoR and the prep room can't be the same room? It seems as though that'd make the most sense to me...put the candidate in the CoR and...
Congratulations! It can be nerve racking, I'll admit, but I found the brethren to be very supportive and understanding, for the most part.
I remember my first stated meeting as WM...I found out, when I arrived at lodge, that our DD was there for his first visit. Just remember things could...
Hello Bro. Berry! It's been several months since I visited your lodge.
The other brethren here are correct and I would advise speaking to members of your lodge about this first as well. I understand your lodge has financial troubles but your brethren should be willing/able to assist you if...
Monthly unless something else is planned. I generally keep it short and sweet so I don't dread it like the minutes and communications.

Agreed. It's just extra and, like the bible presentation, it could be something that's completely optional so long as it follows the procedures set forth by the GL. I see no harm in it and if it turns out to be pointless and ineffective then it'd stop seeing use and die out anyhow.
If you're looking for advise and wish to continue making things work I'd suggest marriage counseling if you haven't tried that yet.
Hope everything works out for the best. :(
My advise is to always stay curious. Read as many books on Freemasonry (and in general) as you can and continue to improve yourself. Too many brothers become Master Masons and then believe they've done all the work they need to do...I'd argue that you've just begun your journey. :)
