Turn my FC work in on the 15th...then masters ceremony to follow...

Both will extend what you learned in Blue Lodge. My Instructor always put it like this. If Freemasonry were a tree, Blue Lodge would be your root system. York Rite would be the tree truck, and Scottish Rite would be the many branches. My advise, take your time and enjoy Freemasonry...

Which one was the most diffcult?

As my instructor explained it to me when I got the 13, "You already know at least half of it."

What would you like to see changed in Masonry?

I think there is a difference between holding our problems up to the light of day and posting them on a billboard. I do feel that Lodges and Grand Lodges need to be open and upfront about their problems with their membership. Hiding problems doesn't make the go away or help them, they are...

Which appendant bodies do you belong to?

Just Scottish Rite for me so far. I've been asked to be an Advisor for DeMoley and I've been hinted at for York Rite and Shriners, I just don't have the time right now. So hopefully in my future I will find the time to be able to devote to those.

The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer

Brad "Taxil" Meltzer likes to milk the conspiracy theories on Freemasonry. Personally, I've gotten where I can't stand the man. He's just making a buck off the backs of other people's good names now.

    Endowed Memberships

I've heard many lodges have been doing this and getting like responses from their endowed members. It's always nice to see even inactive brothers guarding against their lodge's light going out.

    Freemasons For Dummies

I too found it a great resource. In fact, I believe Brother Hodapp is a member here as well. I know his website is one of the sources of our newsfeeds.

Can a MM join as a youth?

Confirmed with the State Master Counselor, a MM can become a DeMoley as long as he is under 21.

Do the ages for DeMolay need revision?

Although I have never been a DeMoley, I agree with you that the overlap in age is not a waste. I know this is the age in which many of the DeMoleys are taking leadership positions in State Offices. Plus as you pointing out, that overlap provides an excellent opportunity for them to keep the...

Can a MM join as a youth?

I believe they will take a man even if he is a Master Mason, as long as he is under 21. He can't become an Advisor until he is 21 regardless if he is a Master Mason or not. I'll run this by the State Master Counselor for DeMoley and find out.

Dual/plural memberships. Should Masons be able to join multiple lodges?

I am a member of 2 lodges. I say if you have the time, by all means. I know we have one guy here in the Waco area that is a sitting officer in 4 lodges. We did a big joint installation in our district, and by the end of the night he looked like Michael Phelps with all the jewelry around his...

    Violations of the Masonic Oath

I think the fact we have as a society as a whole forgotten how to discuss issues and try to seek a resolution among ourselves. I've seen people sue businesses because one small thing was wrong, without ever bringing it to the business's attention. We seem to have forgotten how to communicate...

    San Gabriel #89 - Bring a Non-Mason to Dinner

A great way to promote a lodge. I still believe that one of the biggest hurdles to overcome, is that people don't know how to join or even where to start.

What do you tell the Anti Freemason?

I don't think Masonry became incompatible with Christianity as a few "leaders" in the Christian Community needed the own "adversaries" to "protect" their flock from. I often hear them using Isaiah 14:12 to damn Masons, and I laugh to myself at how well they personify the King of Babylon from...
