For me what has worked best is learning both the questions and answers, then repeating them out loud during my commute. For me the out loud rehearsal was the most important part, and really helped the degree work sink in.
Howdy Matthew, Welcome to the community. I'll echo what others have said, just go and show up to one of the meetings. You'll be able to ask questions and meet a few people.
Thanks everyone.
Steve: We had a good time; thanks for the grub, y'all did a good job. I think the sausage was my favorite, but that chicken is real good too.
I was given the opportunity to return my Fellowcraft proficiency tonight; I'd been practicing the questions and answers, but had planned to have my mentor ask the questions. Instead, I went ahead and did both the questions and answers with no issues. Now the waiting game for my Master Mason...
Brewed under license in Ft. Worth, so we can probably count it as "Texas"; several Australians I've met won't touch it. I like the "Premium Ale" in the Green and Gold oil can better than the blue stuff.
Toured the brewing facility at Blackstar Co-Op in Austin yesterday, with the obligatory tasting to follow. One beer really surprised me - Waterloo. It's a sour mash beer, and is very tart, but finished extremely clean. (This means it had a ton of flavor, but very little aftertaste).

Prince Hall lived during the American Revolution, about 100 years before the abolition of slavery. His origins aren't very well known, but from what I just read, he is believed to be a former slave of William Hall, who worked in Boston as a tanner; his manumission likely occurred in 1765, but...
I voted Mt. Biking, all good activities, but the mountain bike has the distinct advantage of being both less expensive and easier to make time for since there isn't typically long distance travel required.
I like it - everything seems to move much quicker than Facebook, especially viewing photos. The circles thing is a great concept, and well carried out.
My biggest complaints so far: The "Huddle" feature of the mobile app isn't available (or at least not evident) on the actual site. I have to...
Congratulations Brother! Absolutely concur with you on the feeling of being overwhelmed at first. It does get easier with time and experience. Just meet with your mentor as much as your schedule permits and attend lodge whenever possible. You'll pick it up faster than you expect.
