I'll be attending the September retreat in Corpus Christi. Registration starts at 5pm, retreat starts at 7pm I believe.
When on Sunday does it end? I have tickets to the Shrine Circus in San Antonio that weekend and my choices are either to take the family Thursday night, which probably won't...
That last picture was from Mr Bill, Bill Bradford. Its Gray Lodge #239 in Houston. http://weblog.mrbill.net/archives/2011/02/21/im-a-published-photographer/
And that's how I use it. I like the cipher because I can work on the degrees etc. when I'm walking, driving, bored at 2am. I can carry it in my pocket or car wherever I go.
One thing I experienced in my two years as a steward was that our brothers tended to donate what they feel the meals were worth. I was told before my time that they are cheap and don't give enough, but then the previous stewards also sometimes served olive loaf or pimento cheese. The meals I...
We have stated meetings once a month. I prefer that, its all I've ever known.
But the past year, we have had a called meeting (usually for a degree), the remaining Tuesdays. One downside to being busy with degrees is that you get no time to ever practice them unless you do practice on another...
Have Texas OES and Rainbow run into that problem?
(I kind of know the answer, OES seems to move all the time, never staying in 1 place more than 2 years from what I can find and Rainbow the same thing although that might be changing here soon for them)
The only problem I have with this, and otherwise I completely love it and think we could build a nice looking building for the museum, library, archive and offices, is that who on earth would buy it?
This Tuesday (7/30) we will conduct a EA proficiency and if found proficient, we will be conferring a FC degree. Dinner at 6:30, proficiency starts at 7:30.
Of course Blake, the one time I miss a meeting (I'm at the coast for a few days), you make an appearance.
Doug, really depends on where you are coming from in San Antonio. East side is going to be way different than south side. I'd throw the address (1353 Wald Road, New Braunfels, TX) into...
New Braunfels Masonic Lodge #1109 will confer 2 Master Masons degrees on Tuesday July 23, 2013 starting at 7pm. Dinner (open to the public) will be served at 6:30pm.
We're having quite a number of younger men walking through our doors and eventually petitioning. I think in the past year I've done maybe 10-12 EA degrees and almost all of them have been younger than me (I'm 36 UGH!). Its like a tidal wave, younger men come in and visit and see other younger...
But how do you address that? Gonna stick out like a sore thumb at elections time when you speak up or its gonna look great when you start talking to other brothers about someone not being ready to move forward.
What exactly have you seen homosexuals doing in lodge? In the lodges I've been in, I've never noticed anything but maybe I'm missing the cues. I'm kind of afraid to attend lodge now.
Texas, Art 228: Meetings: Frequency. Every Lodge shall meet at least once in three months. So I assume you could go 2 months without meeting however I don't know of a lodge in Texas that does.
