WE use it to the best of our ability. I am the DDGM for our District, serving Grand Master Brumit, so I am prejudiced towards it! I am also the Lodge Education chair, so we have implemented it. We have so many young Masons that need the guidance of the Pass it On program and the connection it...
By the way, the COW will be up here in Temple 8 am on July 21 at Knob Creek. The COW will be in Taylor 7 pm on Aug. 31 and 9 am Sep. 1. Onion Creek in Austin 6 pm Sep. 14, Waco #92 at 8 am Oct. 14. Those are the closest to Burnet, I think.
Brother,
Here are the requirements:
C Certificate: open and close all four lodges in every position, questions and answers in each degree.
B Certificate: All of C, plus conferring each degree in every position.
A Certificate: All of B, plus three lectures.
Once you earn a certificate, it is...
Brother Stewart, you may not have met the Ruby Redbird.... (or the Smokehaus, for that matter).
After reading the posts here, being of an open mind toward all brews, I went and bought a six pack of the Wild Hare Pale Ale and the Ruby Redbird.
I like the Pale Ale. True to form. Bitter and twangy...
Shiner beers rock. I remember when the only places you could get them was within 100 miles of Shiner Texas. I went to college (for a while) at SWTSU and drank a ton of Shiner Bock on tap.
The Black is stout and good. Have not tried the Pale Ale... I kinda feel that Bohemians should not be...
I would love to go to that event. Wish I had more notice.
SPeaking of awesome degree locations, there is work being done now to confer a Master Mason degree on board the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi during the Warden's Retreat Weekend this fall. I plan on attending!

As a follow up, Salado Lodge now has two very proud DeMolay fathers who will become active with their sons in the Phantom Warriors Chapter of DeMolay in Killeen. Both the new DeMolay boys were quickly put to work in an office!
COUT!
I think it is very important that the leadership get a vote of the lodge on the record to launch the Facebook page. When you do present it to the Lodge brothers, be sure to inform them of what will be put on the page and what will not be on the page.
We launched the Salado FB page after a...
I never reported back on this. I earned the B Certificate. Working towards A certificate. I have the EA and most of the MM lecture down. The FC lecture is daunting! Will try for it in late July.
After being raised a Mason in 1995, I finally petitioned an appendant body (York Rite). Earlier this week I received -- along with another Master Mason -- the degree of Mark Master. I am going to go through the degrees one at a time I think. I know that will take quite some time and might be a...
Last night, I and a few of my Masonic Brothers from Salado Lodge #296 attended the Phantom Warriors Chapter of DeMolay, sponsored by Killeen Lodge #1125.
The DeMolay boys conducted an initiation of one of my Masonic Brother's sons.
All told, there were close to 30 Masons in attendance!
The...
He is (Loring) is already reading a critical look at the state of Masonry without even being one yet. I wish some of our Brothers would read or consider some of "Asleep at the West Gate."
Andrew, the harshness expressed is one of protection of a beloved Fraternity. If you are a good man...
Brothers,
Some time back, I posted that I would scan my old copy of "Masonry and the Mason," a booklet given to me at the time that I was raised.
I have taken out the references to the Texas Masonic School, since it has been closed.
However, much of the information (I think) is good.
Here it...
The Additional Lodge Light makes brief reference to it in Chapter Five on Traditions and Laws.
Masonry and the Mason has much more about it:
However, I should state that I do not think this booklet is given to Master Masons anymore, replaced by the blue booklets.
I got both, so I feel lucky...
Andrew,
You don't apply to become a Mason, you petition. The petition requires that two members of the Lodge to which you are petitioning sign it as Recommenders. Three other Masons from Jurisdictions recognized by the Grand Lodge of Texas will also have to be listed as references. Then it has...
