Trust your gut.
I think there are many churches that will accept you for who you are and will not blink an eye at your involvement in Freemasonry. I would move on and find a place that feels right; then tell the clergy you are a Mason upfront.
I use gmail as well. I actually signed up for a free Google Apps account, which lets me use my own domain name with gmail's client. Not to mention a calendar, contacts, and document repository shared for the entire family.
