So...... let me get this right... you are saying PA has its own particular way of doing things masonicaly ? !
* feigns shock *
But seriouslly,... I wonder if there are other places where only one St John gets mentioned..
Hello Bro Mark
We do not use the the terminology.. certainly not in our opening as I expect your workings do..
But just as Solomon dedicated the temple at Jerusalem to God's service, so would our lodges be so "dedicated", supported by Wisdom, Strength and Beauty... but no where does our Craft...
Hello Brethren
Thanks to all participants for their contributions to the site in 2022.
I hope you all had a safe and merry Christmas period and wish all the best for the New Year.
Agree @Matt L . We could blame the officers.. or the leaders of the lodge could take some responsibility for the culture which developed where the OP is talking about financially incentivizing officers to attend. That culture needs to change. The conversation you speak of is standard in any good...

Someone to blend the plaster,
Someone to carry the stone,
Neither the man nor the master,
Ever can build alone."
Six ! ?
Tell me more Brother ! (And before 1813 ?)
I did google (but not very hard) and found this https://www.lodge-of-friendship-no44.co.uk/the-eight-grand-lodges-of-england
I find the "Wigan Rebellion" aka Wigan Grand Lodge (and I think it depends on your view) very interesting. I've done a...
Putting aside any questions on the 1717 date (and shortened names).... Do you think I am grossly incorrect if I say:
"The first modern Grand Lodge was founded in 1717 and today, it is called the United Grand Lodge of England"
I often wonder about this.. but it is a continuous line (methinks)...
