Just so I could wear a fancy ring and have a :sc: decal on my car! :P Just kidding!
I joined our beautiful craft because of previous reading I had done, and also all Masons I had met were always bright, charming, charismatic, noble individuals. So I asked, I knocked and it opened unto me!
I can recall reading that story from that book! It goes a little something like this:
When they showed up at lodge, the Filipino brothers denied entry until they could possibly pass a test. They went back inside, the visitors could hear quite a commotion coming from the inside, once they were...
The night I found out I was being voted in, I waited outside the lodge room to hear back from someone with an answer. Everyone came out and shook my hand to congratulate me for being found worthy of receiving the degrees in Masonry!
We try to meet up for practice every Thursday night. It's not always the same brethren conferring the degrees though, I have served as Jr. warden and Jr. deacon, and last night I did master of ceremonies for an EA. It was exciting!
Congratulations my brother. You will realize that your proficiency from now on will be much easier to digest, so to speak. Pay lots of attention to what happens in every degree, and learn as much as possible. Again, congratulations!

Interesting, I never thought there would actually be clandestine lodges! Good thing the ones I have visited in my area I found through the GLoTX website's lodge locator. I am a freshman Master Mason, forgive me if I seem to be out of it! :D
Les Claypool is an amazing bassist. One of my favorites as well as Steve Vai's Billy Sheehan, check him out: http://www.billysheehan.com/
I picked up the guitar when I was a freshman in high school, I wish I had more time to play, but it's hard when I need to keep busy with my usual vocation :)
It is difficult these days to tell what is truly a crisis. I concur with many of you on the media blowing it out of proportion, they love to see people panicking.
Nonetheless, I urge my beloved brethren to maintain their personal hygiene and take care of themselves, you never know! ;)
I moved out here from Arizona last year, one thing I can tell you brother, get used to the crazy inclement weather, it likes to throw lots of curve balls! >.<
