    Moon

We usually deal with Anti-masonic sentiment here however this is my first encounter with an Anti-Moon landing ist? As for proof, the rocks that were brought back have mineral content that is not found on this planet. However the composition is such that it has resulted in the accepted theory...

    FC coming up.

I like to tell other EA's to settle down and pay attention to this degree. Here's why... You're two best nights are the night you are initiated and the night you are raised. The Fellowcraft is just a step to get your MM degree, correct? WRONG! :14: This degree is probably the most important in...

    Past master night

Is there anything you can do that results in a prize being given by the sale of tickets if it is not money? the only issue is you can't overspend. Replace "sell tickets" to "give tickets" It gets your stated meeting participation up, albeit subversively, and it gets the PMs out for their night.

    Past master night

How many past masters are we talking about? Get approval for a raffle. --Past masters only may purchase a ticket. --20 dollars a ticket that must be purchased at lodge on a regular communication night excluding PM night. --30 dollars a ticket that may be purchased the night of the drawing...

    "Lodge Politics"

I don't know if this is similar to what you are speaking about but if the WM is absent we do what is called advanced chairs. Each station and place moves up one chair for the evening and a steward seat is left vacant. If there is no degree work the vacancy does not affect the workings of the lodge.

For those who have sat in the East for a degree

Re: For those who have sat in the East for a degre Get some coffee if you come to new jersey. A prized possession is the IC lecture pin. Our G is pretty much long form also. I sat in a FC where the G was given and it gave me chills the way the WM delivered it. I don't know if it was word perfect...

For those who have sat in the East for a degree

Re: For those who have sat in the East for a degre the senior deacon has all the work in my state with the IC. Asides from the last piece of work, which is an awesome piece, the WM is on cruise control during the FC.

    Degrees

Edited: I was pointing out that being a mason is not a license for others to treat us as they see fit without repercussions but I can see your point. What happened here is a troll got caught trying to set us up and knock us down with anti-BS. He unfortunately had what he was dishing out (apple...

    Unmasonic

This does not sound right to me. He can be initiated and then request a waiver of jurisdiction if he wants to move to another lodge, no? It may or may not require a vote by ballot or public vote but this seems like the most stable route to me. We had an issue where an EA wanted to move to...

    "Lodge Politics"

did anyone explain to the newly raised mason that it was temporary? Lodge can be overwhelming and when people don't explain what they assume to be then that makes for a world of trouble.

What would you recommend as a first reference book

Re: What would you recommend as a first reference The OP is Canadian and their lodges most likely operate on the 1st when able and raise the lodge to MM when needed. Having said that, how long does your jurisdiction make you wait before you can be passed?

    Blue Lodge Raffle

If the prize in hand is the certificate and you word it as such you should be OK. Remember, gaming concerns local and state government bodies as well which is where this hang up might be coming from so check those and run it up through your secretary to your Grand Secretary if you want to cover...

    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

You can do whatever you want in life. However, the caveat is not discussing your membership openly at church or with those who would otherwise make it an issue. It kind of makes volunteer work at the Lent Fish Fry or sausage and pepper stand hard though. "Hey Chrome, I didn't know you were a...

Albert Pike: More harm than good?

It is the mark of an educated man to entertain a thought without having to accept it. - Aristotle. Read the books. Form your own opinion, if any is needed. You do not need to conform to his views on Masonry. Having said that, I think Pike is a double edged sword. He did well by Masons but not...

    Are they legit?

NJ is F&AM (legitimate) Texas is AF&AM (Legitimate) However you might have a sneaky group try to use AF&AM in NJ and claim lineage but are clandestine... Quite simply, you need to verify the legitimate grand lodge of the state and work down to the local lodge level. Mobile internet makes it...

My boss puts my working tools to the test.

In my line of work the person running the business is a Licensed Land Surveyor who has done 4 years in an ABET certified university and then sat as a Licensed Surveyor in Training for another two to four years before becoming fully licensed. High end math classes and law classes comparable to a...
