My formula...
I let the "masonically older than I" decide. I know those that grip and those that just shake and I act accordingly when I know them to be such.
Those that are masonically younger than I will receive a shake from me unless we're doing a degree, examination or it is a required...
Similar here.
The furniture of the lodge. You have movable furniture and immovable furniture.
The Square, Level and Plumb are immovable pieces of furniture and thus are stations.
Freemasonry is a religion as much as football is a religion to the fanatic.
You get out of it what you put into it. Some may consider Masonry to be their "religion" but not for the reasons the word actually defines in the sense of Deity.
I would say yes.
If the profile is public then have at it. If the petitioner counters what he told you during an investigation then that would say something about his character. You did not put it on the web for all to see. He did.
- I have heard stories of a wife of a mason suggesting to the wife of another mason that their husband would make a good mason.
- members leaving a blank petition on someone's table...
Not sure how 'legal' that is though.
Remember your master mason obligation concerning and correcting those of the inferior degree.
Protect the lodge and move on.
You may rub elbows with those that gave him the green light (IC and proposers) but for what it is worth, if they cannot see the signs, that is on them.
I believe in NJ that you have to order them through your secretary or your secretary has to fill out the proper paperwork for you to get one. It is disseminated through Grand Lodge and you have to be a regular recognized mason in good standing to get one.

Do you mean you can't use catch phrases in public to try a brother before speaking masonically or you are not allowed to use them at all even if you do not intend on speaking masonically?
I understand catch phrases are not substitutes for an investigation committee or an exchange in dues cards...
We usually have two classes based on numbers.
We try to get one class through an initiation, passing and raising before the summer break and we start a new class after the break although the way our grand lodge and election calendar runs, november and december are pretty much shot. We might see...
I would assume Mosaic means after business, the lodge is put on a tiled refreshment for a presentation.
We have a ritual advisory committee that does education and leads degree/general rehearsals. Sometimes they do a piece in tiled refreshment.
I was merely commenting on the quotations in the original post concerning,
Reading the paragraph of which this is a part comes off as seeing our numbers drop to a point to where a defined meeting place is not practical. My reply was playing along with the "what if" and my "last resort" was what...
Check your local zoning laws.
Where it may be convenient to meet in ones home, it may be against local zoning regulations regarding residential areas. I know that is an issue in my state as I work in the real estate area as a land surveyor.
Also, Dispensation is needed from Grand Lodge if you...
We ask the candidate to arrive at Lodge for dinner at 630. The 7 officers go up and open the Lodge between 715 and 730. I was accompanied by 2 other candidates and one Master Mason who talked our ears off to calm us down and keep us company. Once the business end of things were dispensed with...
