I know of the tongue-in-cheek knife and fork degree which I hear is pretty funny, but never seen it. though also I've heard it used in a more derogatory form as a term for some masons who do not bother to ever practice their craft nor give back to the fraternity and just pretty much show up for...
Re: Why is it so hard to get Masons to join the Co
I finally petitioned the Commandery, but I hear stories of how disorganized it can be. We'll see how much I like it. I'm hoping against all odds that my experience won't mirror yours @psyclepath but I fear it may be. Hopefully I can make a...

I wonder if this in reference to the Hiramic legend. IIRC though, the Hiramic legend doesn't surface in writing until, what, like the 1730s?

Think of it less like we are "enforcing Texas rules" and more that we are making a judgment call in the best interest of the community and site. It's a nebulous concept, but there is not a lot of black and white here. I've also been a moderator and admin of other forums before and this is a bit...

the blue slipper is an emblem worn by wives, sisters, and daughters of master mason's to sorta denote that they are under our protection I guess you'd say. my wife has the pin too though she doesn't like the look of the "masonic bowling pin". I reckon she could get it. kind of a gray area really.
Without going into specifics, as for the physical lodge you need some requisite items to correctly be a "lodge"; the location matters not. Symbolically, the "lodge" has no terra firma bounds, but that's out of the scope of your question.

I'm on the same page as you brother. Consider this however... at what point is being more technological/efficient start to feel.. I dunno, counter to the culture that we sometimes try to retain? Reminds me of the candle/bulb discussion. Is having a nice, leather bound book of minutes a waste of...
