I think Bro. Maloney was being a little tongue in cheek. That being said, stop paying your property taxes and see how long you have rights to it...much like if you stopped making payments on a rental property. :P
Ah, I didn't realize anyone was trying to use it during a tiled ritual. If a candidate had been put in a CoR well before the ritual started then it may have been a non-issue. It seems it'd be unwise to try and do that now since it's gotten the attention of the GL though.
I agree there are...
So...now that the Shrine is no long a Masonic body in Arkansas that means they'll allow anyone non-masons to join the Shrine?
How will this work with visitation in other states?
Also, what if someone wants to undo this down the road? I suspect having non-masons in the Shrine will also make...
"I'm concerned about the chance to advance classes. I'm a lifetime member in Missouri and now live in Central Michigan. With the new classes & no proficiencies being returned I wonder if a new brother really has a chance to experience the teachings & know what it means to be a mason. I don't...
I agree Bro. dfreybur, there are certain channels and procedures that must be followed to have the CoR accepted. I know many of us Texans have a rebellious attitude sometimes but trying to circumvent GL law will ultimately do more harm than good to get it accepted.
A black room with mirrors...
I feel the same way brother, I went to a day festival to get my YR degrees and, years later, I'm still struggling to learn more about the symbolism. Would you mind sending me the link as well? I'd be grateful. :)
I've taken classes at a few colleges and WGU has easily been the best (and least expensive) college I've attended. The courses are well planned but it can be a difficult college if the student isn't organized and self motivated. There's also quite a bit more work per course than you'd do if...
Sorry...
Western Governor's University is my college (WGU)
edit: I thought you asked 'what' instead of 'where'
WGU is an internet college but it's based out of Salt Lake City, UT
Bro Tomasball brings up a good point about using a COR. Even if you claim you aren't using it as part of the ritual its still pretty iffy and actions like that may make it more difficult for such a practice to get accepted in the long run.
Has anyone seriously thought about making a proposal...
Brother, I have taken the York Rite, all the way through KT. That being said, my degrees were conferred in a festival which I spent the majority of sitting on the sidelines observing after working a nightshift the evening before.
I don't recall seeing or participating in a COR during the...
Not trying to resurrect a dead thread but I've read on this thread (and elsewhere) that a COR is used in the Yorkrite ritual somewhere. Could someone direct me where to start looking to learn more about this, or at least point me to the correct body?
Please PM me if you can't say without...
I'm surprised...you gentlemen think he's a hero as well? I thought I'd be in the minority on this.
That'd mean something if they hadn't started just giving them away. :1:
The progressive line serves a purpose in my opinion, which is to gradually give the brother responsibility and make him more familiar with the lodge work.
Sadly, too often brothers will shirk their responsibility and will overlook one another's inability or unwillingness to learn the work...
