    Allied Masonic Degrees

Just got word that I've been elected to join Grand Arcanum Council #447 out of Dallas, TX and receive the Allied Masonic Degrees. Very stoked.

Do you agree with the results of Annual Communications

Yah I noticed that if you read the introduction it does say you can use any program in like spirit. One other thing, after reading all the programs, I do not feel all programs are appropriate for every degree. There are a few FC programs and some MM ones too. My secretary assures me that these...

    New MWSA site

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the new website for our Masters, Wardens, & Secretaries Association. It hasn't officially launched yet, but most all the content is close to there. Check it out! http://www.64mwsa.org

    One Day Masonic Class/Journey

I think a more accurate analogy based on what you said would be having the same requirements to be Worshipful Master, but instead of making them be met in reality, they were "symbolically met" by reading or ceremony and then they are all set to be WM (and achieved after the fact) The length of...

    Greetings

Where abouts do you live? You'll find that email isn't a great way to initiate contact with lodges. Far better to locate one and their stated monthly meeting time and show up in person an hour or so early and introduce yourself.

    Masonic Themed Tattoo

Now to me, I wouldn't recognize a crushed face. I sense a jurisdictional difference.

    Question about joining A.E.A.O.N.M.S

I believe they have fraternal visitation on the *organizational level*. However like all visitations, you are bound by your Grand Lodge laws as well.

    Question about joining A.E.A.O.N.M.S

AEAONMS = Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. As I understand it, AEAONMS is the PHA version of AAONMS. Otherwise pretty similar ritualistically and organizationally.

    York Rite light

I've started my companion adept of the temple program (the YR rough equivalent of the master craftsman program). Hopefully it will be as enlightening.

    Commandery Uniform Changes

I'm recently a fan of this: I dig the frock style coat with the baldric. IMO if the chapeau were paired w/ this, I'd wear it much more proudly. I don't mind the cap/mantle either like this...

    Commandery Uniform Changes

Ah I see. The cap/mantle we have the option for is a cape and a cap similar to Scottish Rite.

    Commandery Uniform Changes

What you suggest sounds like the cap/mantle with the addition of a baldric. What am I missing?

2014 Proposed Resolutions and Recommendations (GLoTX AF&AM)

If I remember right, part A established a desire to keep and maintain the GL building, part B proposed a funding campaign.

    Grand Raising

As I've read around here, in the PHGLoTX newsletter, the GM expressed a wish to raise a minimum of 100 FCs at the annual communication. I assume this is a grand raising; a large class raising during the grand lodge communication.

I like the requirement for education. I wish it didn't lock lodges into a prescribed set of pieces to deliver. Promotes hearing education, but stifles being an educator/researcher. Still, it's a positive step overall.
