    FELLOW CRAFT LECTURE

Awesome brother. I really do love the FC degree. To be correct, the term is "passed" in regards to FC, whereas "raising" is related to the Master. (I'm a nitpick, I know! ;) ) I think it's great that you learn the Q plus the A. It really helps!

    The first step

Congrats future brother! Nervous and excited are both words that I would use to describe what I felt going in, hah. Just trust in your future brothers and enjoy it. You only go through it once!

Why I demited out of York Rite

Yah none of that in the Council, hah. What, you don't wanna dress like an ostrich died on General Lee's head??

Unless your state doesn't use one. ;)

Why I demited out of York Rite

I would suggest the Council as well if you intend on being in Chapter. The Select Master really rounds out the "circle" of the Blue degrees. Plus there's only two (or three if you count the SEM). I can see not joining the Commandery, but I think missing the Cryptic Council is just tragic. ;)

Fraternal Greetings! from Br. Raymond Walters, Phylaxis Society Rep. for Region II WV

Sad to hear the state of things, though I know it's a widespread mentality. Hopefully it will lessen over time. Thank you for all you do!

What was I supposed to say?

Your answer was an excellent one IMO. You'll find that a lot really are only there for the flapjacks. :P

What do you like/dislike about the AASR?

He's in WA for sure. I can only guess he meant traveling to another nearby state or it was a mistake.

I last counted 85 give or take 1.

    Posting lectures and memorization

Same in TX. Also, as I understand it, TX has some of the longest catechisms out there. Pretty brutal on some new EAs. ;)

What do you like/dislike about the AASR?

My understanding is that there are some very large differences in degree work between the two. Would be an interesting discussion indeed. A buddy of mine (also a member of this forum) who took all his SR degrees here in TX recently moved to WA and was interested in travelling to seeing all the...

    Loving it.

Pro tem is short for "pro tempore". Just a Latin phrase meaning "for the time being". A temporary appointment.

    Choosing Your Mark

Yup. I just did a presentation on Marks tonight in Chapter. Asked how many Companions had recorded their Marks. Less than half the hands went up. Shame!!
