WRITTEN BY JOHN B. WILLIAMS, FPS
In the essay that follows, I make the point that the essential work of a Grand Lodge is to encourage men to congregate as Masons, and the essential work of a lodge is to take good men and make them better. From these simple acts proceed all the good works...

Question: is it not at the Grand Master's discretion to issue a dispensation for the purpose you have commented on? I suspect that if a sound plan is put together and presented, that your Grand Master may seriously consider it.
I seem to recall several dormant lodges being revived under the...
I told myself I was not going to proffer any opinion on this topic, but something inside keeps nagging me that I should.
In my travels as a Freemason, I ended up becoming a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas. I held membership there from October 2000 until October 2011.
What I found while...

Dear Masonic Brothers, friends & acquaintances at Masons of Texas,
As we end one year and prepare to enter another, it is our sincere hope and earnest prayer that all of you meet with success and prosperity; that you all are able to overcome any adversity that stifles you and continue in a...
Though the title of this thread indicates PHA South Carolina, these lodges are not in South Carolina nor warranted under either "Regular" Grand Lodge i.e. PHA or mainstream.
If these are in Connecticut [as I suspect], the two GL's there do allow dual memberships within that jurisdiction...
In older books and regualtions I have read on the fraternity, a PM jewel was exactly that, a jewel that a PM could wear with a collar or pinned to his left breast as a mark of distinction within the fraternity.
These two papers were written from two different perspectives...

For a number of years, various types of aprons with blue trim were used. I recall that a noticeable movement back to plain white aprons started in the mid 1990's.
That was what caused me to design my aprons the way I did --- white lambskin, white ribbon trim & white silk embroidery on the...

I recall that in the Grand Lodge of Texas, that a [VSL] Volume of Sacred Law is placed on the altar, and that VSL is not restricted ONLY to the Holy Bible in use by Christians.
That is the only point I AM seeking to make with my comment.
