I can agree with this most of the time. However, if a brother knows something about the candidate that is very private or embarrassing I can see why he would not go to the WM before balloting.
Sounds like you jumped right in from the beginning, that's great. I was raised this past August and look forward to starting through the chairs this upcoming January.
None of your concerns will be a reason to deny you membership. Politics and religion are not even allowed to be discussed in lodge. As far as religion is concerned the only requirement is that you believe in a Supreme Being. If by youth wing you mean a wing for younger adults then the answer is...
I,too, keep my religion and Masonry separate and I see no conflict what so ever between the two. As a matter of fact I see many similarities between them such as showing me a moral compass.
