United States 250th Anniversary

It is no exaggeration to say that connecting the providential dates of July 2nd and July 4th 1776 to Freemasonry generally and American Freemasonry in particular is reductive and foolish. But it is also no exaggeration to point out that numerous Freemasons, British, American, French, Portuguese, German and American-Indian were entwined within the events that followed for eight long and grueling years, as well as longer up until 1787 and the formation of the Constitution of the United States.

To reiterate, connecting the Independence of the United States to Freemasonry is folly: and yet from the dedication and sacrifice borne by many Freemasons in dedicated service to the cause, it is equally folly to allow such a monumental anniversary as the 250th go by unrecognized. I post this as the Senior Warden of a Connecticut Lodge for 2025, therefore should everything come together as expected, I will have the remarkable cause to say I am Worshipful Master of my Lodge in the year of the proud 250th Anniversary of my nation's founding.

I naturally have plans and hopes, but in that position, what would you do as elected head of your Lodge for such a remarkable year? Let me know your thoughts, dear Brothers, and also perhaps send me your hopes. I sincerely hope I am equal to the trial!
