Any know of a good book or books of the history of York rite and Scottish rite masonry and how the differ and coincide to make modern masonry?

http://scottishriteresearch.com might have somethings of value, I honestly also advice you if you are intressted in history to join a Lodge of reaserch.

Rite de Perfection - The Francken Rituals 1783" (2 band; Latomia 1995) and "Scotch [sic!] Rite Masonry Illustrated" (2 band; Charles T. Powner, 1987) have been recomended as well.
