Not sure how this relates to the posted article , but the Masonic rituals and LDS endowment only have a few outward similarities, particularly since the LDS endowment changes a number of years ago. Note also, that not all Masonic ritual is the same.
Further, the LDS ceremony and the Masonic ritual are staged in different era and involve different themes. One is a creation story involving covenants with God. The other occurs at the building of King Solomon’s Temple and involves promises made with other men.
Edit: I see that you are not yet a Mason, and so it seems odd you would speak of s knowledge of Masonic ritual.

Joseph Smith was a freemason and for sure he borrowed quite a bit from freemasonry. But since we are not LDS-members it's of course hard for us to tell. I don't mean that the symbols and ceremonys are the same, but I do mean that the LDS is built-up like a Order with a degree-like system.
Did I say that all Masonic rituals are the same? No.
And why do you think it's strange that I have knowledge of Freemasonry? Your comment might sound as you think of people of lower degree or not yet members as less-knowing.

A number of faiths have differing levels in their offices. Deacon, priest, arch deacon, bishop, archbishop, cardinal, Pope.
I should hope that those of a lower degree or not yet members are less knowledgeable about the degrees. I should think it quite sad otherwise.
