Same song, different different verse -
In Masonry we don't discuss politics or religion. Lodge is a place we are safe from both partisan politics and sectarian religion. Lodge is a sanctuary away from these topics.
This forum is a place were the topic of Catholicism can be discussed because non-Masons are allowed and the forum is not a tiled or official Masonic environment. When you go to introduce yourself at a local lodge, that building will be such a sanctuary in a way this forum is not.
Are you in your heart comfortable with the fact that going to lodge you are not allowed to discuss the topic and will never be allowed to? You will know that Masons include members of every religion on the planet. You will be in a group of men many of whom you will never learn their religious membership. So you will never know the extent of religious diversity in your own lodge. You'll end up knowing the religious membership of some by offhand remarks, emblems on their cars, mention at remote events. Others you'll never have any idea. And that's all a part of the deal you sign up for when you become a member of our family.
As a recovering catholic, I think that God is none too happy with the slaughter of millions of people by the catholic church since its inception in the 3rd century. As to Jesus, he is alive today. It's again me, with my silly, stupid questions. Why Catholics don't wanna 'union' with Orthodox & Protestants? I bet, if Christ was alive, he would like to see -- United/One Church on The Earth! So, let's do it! Let's make -- 1, common Church.
Great points! As a recovering catholic, I think that God is none too happy with the slaughter of millions of people by the catholic church since its inception in the 3rd century. As to Jesus, he is alive today.

It that like the priest admitting molesting but not having to pay for his crimes?By individuals and groups of individuals in the Church. No organization of man is without its fault of individuals. The Church has publicly apologized for this and other historical abuses (per Pope St. John Paul II). While not correcting the wrongs, the spirit of contrition should be commended.

Did the Vatacan ever apologize for refusing to condemn Hitler and the Third Reich?
Do you have a link? I would like to read it.
My Brother, your beliefs are your business and I will defend them; however, the token apology by a former pope is not good enough. I carry emotional, mental and sexual scars, and the only thing that stops me from killing the priests and nuns that I encounter is that, like Hanoi jane, taking out the garbage is still against the law, My truest regret is that the ONE priest that I had every intension of killing in the most horrific manner I could imagine, God took before I could administer justice,.
Please accept my condolences for what you have been through brother, I am truly sorry for these terrible things that you endured.I think you and I understand the reason for this thread, my hatred just gets the upper hand.
