this is really interesting information. I wonder how these demographics differ across our own jurisdiction, and around the world. of course, we can't get all that kind of information!
Congratulations brother! I know how you feel. I lost some sleep to excitement going through myself. And I think it really IS an exciting period for our craft. I'm 25, and I totally felt that I was coming in at a time that will prove pivotal in the history of the organization.

I'm just a squire, but I have been kilted for about 10 years now. As I understand it, traditionally one can wear 2 tartans at the same time without looking a fool, and the TX Bluebonnet would look fine with the Universal FM tartan, IMO.

actually, I took an old sportcoat, cut it to kilt jacket length, and sewed it back up. but, TBH, I don't often wear a jacket with my kilts. But then, I'm content to wear a kilt with a T-shirt, lol.
I own several kilts, traditional and the cotton Utilikilt type. I'll wear one to lodge once in a while. Apparently, Texas is actually one of the highest selling states for kilt companies. I'll say that it's one of the best ways to beat the heat!
