Weird.... I just posted a book review for."The Red Triangle: A History of Anti-Masonry" that studies this exact issue (among others). Freaky timing....
When I was raised here in Texas there was a group called something like "Young Masons" for Masons under 40. That was 13 years ago and I have no idea what happened to the group, but the idea did work at least once in the history of Texas Masonry.
Maybe some of the brethren here know what...

You should visit your prospective new...
It was an "excellent" night in Masonry as the Royal Arch Degree Team from Helotes York Rite exhalted three new Companions! Approximately 20 companions (the degree team plus companions on the sideline) attended the degree and welcomed our new companions at the end of the degree. Congratulations...
Dues generally are not tax deductible because you receive something (the benefits of your membership) in return for them. Dues I believe are considered a puchase, not a donation. You might double check with a CPA....
The conference is similar to the Grand Master's conferences that are held in various locations. The presiding grand officers - Grand High Priest, Grand Master (Council), and Grand Commander along with various elected grand Chapter/Council/Commandery officers host an open communication session...
Helotes York Rite is hosting a York Rite School of Instruction on Saturday, March 24th, at 9:00AM. Members from the Grand Chapter/Council Committee on Work will provide instruction on floorwork at this session.
