Makes sense to me. I also like the fact that there seem to be numerous places where they meet, my lodge is one of those places so it will be very convenient for me.
I know how you feel. I'm also retired and a die hard NRA supporter. I'll skip a couple of meals a week before I stop my monthly support of the NRA-ILA.
Update....I turned in my petition to the YR five days ago. Although I was going to wait for six months I was presented an opportunity to take a two day course to complete the rite that is half the price as taking it degree to degree. As my wife and I are both retired and living on a fixed income...
On the subject of wearing Masonic rings that belonged to grandfathers, fathers, etc. before being raised....the person that originally owned the ring earned the right to wear it by doing everything required to become a Master Mason. I very much doubt that he would want his son or grandson to...
