I was initiated, passed, and raised in a military blue lodge in Italy. There are many military blue lodges here in Europe and many military Prince Hall Lodges. I am Navy, but from what I hear many of the army based in Europe have blue lodges too.
Wearing the S&C in Public
I have a low key ring that I wear on normal days. For meetings or special gatherings I have my Great Great Grandfathers ring and a Masonic watch (the "Masonic" from Barclay, amazing watch!!). I also have several polos and baseball caps that I'll wear to casual...
I was installed as the JW shortly after I was raised. We are a small military lodge and the turn over is high. It has helped focus on learning quickly though.
Did you look into Temple Guard (http://www.templeguardmc.com/). I just joined. I don't know how much of a presence we have in Texas but I know we do have members there. You will have to provide proof that you are master mason for TGMC as well.
Also, the TGMC only has a two piece patch instead...

In my opinion acting this way is against what masonry is. A good mason would be able to look past the fact that the candidate was cop and see him for the man that he was, not only his occupation. I realize that this would only be true in a perfect world, but still, we should all strive to be...
I have two, a cheap titanium one and a much nicer one passed down from my great great grandfather. I wear the Titanium one 24/7 Unless it's to a fancy event, then it's the other.
Congratulations!! I was raised not to long ago and I'll always remember that day as one of the best of my life. It's right next to the day I got married and the day I my kids were born.
