Over the years I have heard many many of our brethren, from both sides of masonry, discuss how nice it would be if we all could meet on the level. This is their opportunity to action their hours of discussion, we will see what happens.
The petitions have been posted both on this site in the building fraternal relations section and on a FB page dedicated to the cause - https://www.facebook.com/MasonicAmity . I am building a website to take the heat off of this forum if we stir the wrong kind of attention but in the mean time...
Brethren,
History has shown that we have been successful in our simple quest to make good men better. Through lists such as those including Nat 'King' Cole and President Harry S. Truman we can see many of the names that have graced our halls and our successes through their works. We have...
I agree 100% with your sentiment, the requirements should be similar to those required to enter Masonry. This would increase the ranks quickly with well qualified women.
As seen here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20729972 and here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9041858 " RESULTS: The volume of the superior temporal cortex, expressed as a proportion of total cerebral volume, was significantly larger in females compared with males (17.8% increase; P =...
Because of their (PHA) involvement in the community here at Bagram they are averaging 10 (classes vary from 7-17) new MM's every 3 months. They have charity drives where they give clothing to the Aghan community in our free trade zone. Every wednesday they help the afghan kids learn english and...
PHA is VERY active here in Bagram hosting events and dances, hardly a day goes by without my seeing a PHA flyer posted about an event. Also their youth program starts at 8, where as our starts at 12 - we are not nearly as active in the community. Perhaps we can establish a program on our own...

Before posting I checked the validity of the email address. I did not however check on the Grand Lodge's stance, though so long as you maintained your obligations I cannot imagine they would object.
Thank you for the question and recent article. It does appear as though the Grand Priory of the Scottish Reformed & Rectified Rite has us in a bit of hot water http://www.masonsoftexas.com/content.php?410-Great-Priory-of-England-Withdraws-Recognition-of-the-Grand-Encampment-of-the-USA
My current location is Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Last R&R I moved my wife and children from the historic Charleston, SC area to the Rhome/Roanoke area of TX... why? Because the palm trees, beaches, history, and lodges of Charleston were too beautiful I suppose. In SC myself, my wife, and my...
I was in Army Wives as an extra numerous times and it was pretty fun. I seen this ad on Craigs list and though I would pass it along to anyone in the area http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/tfr/3601765239.html
OK, so I read the write up at http://opc.org/GA/masonry.html and recognized a few books they cited from my personal shelf. Then I read all 4 pages of this thread, finding several arguments I agreed with, even Brother Maloney whose posts are insightful but tainted with an offensive flavor. I...
All of my friends here in Bagram Airfield are joining the only active lodge around, Alpha Military Lodge 1, PHA chartered out of Oklahoma. As an AF&AM out of Texas it is sad that I cannot be involved, cannot work, just sit here idle. All due to disagreements by the two GLs... gentlemen, behave...
What is the
difference between AF&AM and F&AM Lodges?
by Roger M. Firestone
After the foundation of the first Grand Lodge in England in 1717, a rival
Grand Lodge arose less than two decades later, calling itself the Antients (or
Ancients), whereby it intended to assert greater authenticity...
There is a guy in my department that is Kappa Sigma, until now I have never looked into it. If you read through the website, Home | Kappa Sigma Fraternity , it sounds as though they have derived much of what they are from proper Masonry.
Quick search on the rituals Ritual Book of Kappa Sigma...
Justin, I entered at 24 and was by far the youngest in my class. The SD was a great guy and introduced me to the brethren at the stated meeting. Most were welcoming and enjoyed having a young man display such interest in joining the lodge.
Honestly you found a huge resource in this site, links...
Square and Compass clubs? This is the first time I have heard of such a thing. It would be great to review degrees with others. Right now I am reading Morals and Dogma and Uriels Machine. After those I am going to read a few others. Are there any books on the York Rite you or anyone on the board...
You are correct, in SC (I am in Commandery 1 K.T.) they are F&AM. For the purpose of this thread I was employing F&AM to reference PHA, highlighting the fact that we are two recognized and accepted bodies yet cannot meet on the level in southern states. I will not demit from the lodge in which I...
