    Question for the Craft

Sir Knight Melear, I've only been a York Rite Mason for almost 8 months. I was one the canidates in the Royal Arch Degree during the festival at Holland Lodge in February. The degree brought a new meaning to the traveling man. If there was anything I would have done different during the...

As an Officer, what should my priority be?

My wife has an aunt and uncle in Halletsville. we got married at their ranch 10 yrs this month ago. I've always enjoyed this time of year in that area. I hated to miss the kolache fest last weekend, I was real close to the area (Sweet Home), but I chose to go dove hunting instead. Bro. Blake...

As an Officer, what should my priority be?

What about talking to the local odges that are in your area? October and November are the festival months. Talk to the local lodges and see if your lodge can participate with fund raisers in all the festivals. You said money isn't the priority, but your lodge will be out there and could start...

No Women in the Frat but Could we Share our Rituals

SOOB is christian based beliefs. They are Knight Templars wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, etc. The Templars, you have to claim Christ as your savior. You can be York Rite and still not be in the Commandery. So, I guess York Rite Mason's wives, who are not Christians, can belong to the OES...

No Women in the Frat but Could we Share our Rituals

In my eyes, lipstick on a pig doesn't make it any prettier!! In the case, CHANGE is not a good idea!! The women already have a Masonic organization without men. The Social Order of the Beauceant. Their rituals are not revealed to any man in Masonry. Our Commandery meets in the same building...

No Women in the Frat but Could we Share our Rituals

No Mason today, tomorrow, or yesterday. My Brothers the wisest of men created this Fraternity. The obligations that we have taken were created for the Fraternity to be everlasting. Our rituals should NOT be share with anyone, except it be a true and lawful BROTHER. Not a wife, mother, sister...

No Women in the Frat but Could we Share our Rituals

We might need to take a moment and remember a small part of our obligation. My brothers this is how buildings crumble and ships sink, with small cracks in the foundation. Didn't we all promise and swear...

    Dress Attire Revisited

as long as there is an effort, and someones heart in the right place. Just as it was stated earlier don't show up like you just woke up from "last nights party". The Fraternity is trying to make good men better.

When to turn in your work?

There wasn't a completion course in 1992 when I turned my work in. When did this become law?

When to turn in your work?

A MM proficiency is turned at a stated meeting only? Art. 436 doesn't say anything about a MM.

    Dress Attire Revisited

I hope I wasn't coming off disrespectful. I totally respect the working man and going straight to lodge after work. Luckily for me I've had time in the past to go home and change. I hope I never go to lodge and see what I seen at this past festival. There are no excuses for wearing shorts to...

    Dress Attire Revisited

I visited the York Rite festival earlier this month at Holland Lodge. I noticed a young canidate wearing shorts, t-shirt and tennis shoes. I felt someone should have said something, I guess trying to get them in and out was more important. I hate to say it, it's todays society. Not only do...

Here is one of the reasons we are Masons - a call for help

Can the Templar Eye Foundation help the boy with his glasses?

When to turn in your work?

the laws of the GL that I've read really doesn't determine one or the other. So, I guess it depends on each circumstance. Peace and Harmony must prevail !

When to turn in your work?

My opinion is that the work needs to be voted on by every member possible, and most of the time there are more members present during a stated meeting than a called. Could someone C&P Article 333 and see if we can compare to the other Articles that have been posted in this thread?

When to turn in your work?

Can a canidate only turn in his work in a stated or called meeting, or does it matter? I thought it was only during a stated meeting because that is when voting takes place.

    Signatures on Petition

I guess you could open an EA or FC have him attend. When the petition is read the Sec. could recognize the EA or FC as the one who introduce the induvidual to Masonry. It would make the brother feel involved.

    Signatures on Petition

I rememeber in the pamphlet after recieving the EA degree( the one the WM asked you not to take to work but you can leave it on the coffee table) says an EA can recomend or assist a person to be introduced to the lodge. But I've never heard of anyone but a MM signing petitions.

Would you purchase a Texas Freemason License Plate?

Re: Texas Freemason License Plate-Revisited Is there anyway the S&C can be in front of an outline of the state, and have A.F.&A.M.? Also, how easy woukd it be to have plates transfered to another vehicle? I hate to see the plates stay on my truck when I decide to sell it.
