Every GL does not have to be recognized in order to be regular, but every GL must be regular in order to be recognized.

You just described daily conversations with members of clandestine bodies. I wish him the best and hope that he takes advantage of the opportunity to join a legitimate masonic body.
Hopefully things will change and we won't have to figure out who is to blame for what. Let's put our energy into seeing that happen. I'm sure we could get it done.

Using 3 and 4 letter is not good practice. These are the legitimate GLs in the United States. The are named the Grand Lodge of (whatever state) or the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of (whatever state). The two exceptions are Mississippi and Florida where they Prince Hall Grand Lodges are named...
