It used to be very common for men to be both Masons and Odd Fellows. Not so common today, because there aren't many Odd Fellows lodges left. Just to be "belt and suspenders" sure, you might want to check with your Grand Lodge before joining.

Just my opinion, but I don't see why you can't contact them directly. You're not asking to attend lodge there or anything. Any non-Mason can contact Grand Lodges for information about their Masonic ancestors; I don't see why we have to go through more steps than anyone else.

The Grand Lodge of Albania still appears on the Grand Lodge of Minnesota list of recognized GLs.

I believe that would be referred to as an "affinity lodge."

I'm convinced that some of them are government agents hoping we'll "out" secret Masonic activity in their country.
