I would use the wriggle room - there has been no advice your petition has been rejected. I would follow up with your friend and forget the other application, but every asked, do confirm you had applied to join, but after submitting an application, never heard back.
I think it is as simple as this (which I often day) - Brother is an easy title to get and a very hard one to earn.. but there are only so many hours in the day, and Lodge must be in the context of Family First, Work Second, Lodge Third... but many Brothers I truly count as family.. and there...
Agree - but also sometimes it is comparing apples to oranges.. here, we go into a 5 day lock-down for two cases in the State. Other places have thousands and it is business as usual.. so, as usual, Freemasonry is often a product of time and place..

Culture change takes time. That was probably true of my lodge 20 years ago, but now, most members I call mentioned they have spoken to another member in the last couple of weeks. A membership list with phone numbers is a good place to start. Asking one member to check on another member is a good...

Victoria has two AASR, one with a Trinitarian requirement, one with none. One Australian, the other Scottish. I can't remember which does not have the requirement.. Is it the Australian one ?
