I only expect to answer any "challenges" or show my dues card if I'm seeking entrance to a Lodge where there is no one to vouch for me. The idea of challenging a man on the street to "defend" his own property blows my mind.
Minnesota rule:
Proper solicitation shall consist of the following: A man of sterling qualities may be approached and informed, but only once. He must be
left to make his own decision. He should not be badgered.!
I'm not sure what point you're making. I posted about the Grand Encampment in response to posts that said you do not have to be a Christian to be a KT. Grand Encampment says otherwise. That was my only point.
The Grand Encampment web site says you must believe in the Christian religion, as was quoted earlier in the thread. It says it several times on their web site, including on the downloadable petition. Now, I guess that the Grand Commanderies of the states don't have to belong to the Grand...
I am a Christian, and the fact that my non-Christian blue lodge brothers are excluded is one of the reasons I'm NOT interested in KT. Invitational side degrees, okay, but a main degree of a Masonic rite, I'm not okay with.
Yeah, I'm more for the direct "what lodge do you belong to." Too many of the other, more arcane, questions can lead to confusion. Not everybody has heard things like the 15¢ question.
No, my mistake. The Prince Hall Scottish Rite operates under a united Supreme Council, but this one isn't it. This one is totally clandestine. I apologize.
I read his post too quickly. The Prince Hall Scottish Rite, just like the "mainstream" Scottish Rite, does not charter craft Lodges.
No, it's not irregular. It's the Prince Hall Scottish Rite, now recognized by both the Southern Jurisdiction and Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. And, as far as the only Supreme Council being in Washington DC, the NMJ Supreme Council is in Lexington, Massachusetts.
