    Is Freemasonry Prestigious?

Up until the last 30-35 years or so, Masonry was elite in this country. Masons were the elite in their communities. Elite is different from "elitist." Elitist has a negative and snobbish connotation. Elite means (paraphrasing) superior in quality. We need to get back to that. Instead of worrying...

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

Most people, I feel, understand I wasn't making a straw man or any other kind of argument. My response was in reply to the ridiculousness of your post. I asked a legitimate question. You came back with a snide response. I rebutted in kind.

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

I was asking anyone in general. It seemed more than one person brought it up, so I genuinely wanted to know.

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

I asked a sincere question seeking information. To me, paying dues on line has never been on my radar. To others, it seems like a big deal. I was curious as to why. Unlike your nonsensical reply, cemab4y offered some valid points that I had never considered. I acknowledge such and consider...

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

I agree with and see your point about living out of state from your lodge, but honestly that never entered my mind. I belong to one lodge, and that's the one in which I was raised and I attend, so I have no frame of reference there. I don't think it's a good idea or practical to have monthly...

    "The Freemason" Starring Sean Austin

The fact that my questions went unaddressed speaks volumes.

    Does this really work?

There is nothing wrong with saying to someone "Have you ever thought of becoming a Mason?" or something along the lines "If you've ever though of becoming a Mason, you have to ask." That isn't soliciting membership. That's providing necessary information.

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

If I may ask, why is paying dues online so important? I will start by saying that every bill my household pays is done either online or via bank draft. We don't mail any bills. But, what's the problem with when you get your dues notice, take a check or cash to next stated meeting and hand it to...

Im a Master Mason.. now what is my next Step into York Rite.

Whether you know it or not, you are already a York Rite Mason. The Blue Lodge, Chapter, and Council are all linked. As note, find your local YR bodies and petition. Enjoy expanding your knowledge and understanding of the legend.

    "The Freemason" Starring Sean Austin

Congratulations on the completion of your film, and I hope it is successful for you and your family, but I have to ask: Why was it necessary to connect a murder mystery to Freemasonry? Was it because you knew it would get people worked up and be more likely to buy it? The murder victim was a...

    Excited but scared.

Don't say "It's been" because that indicates past tense. Masonry will continue to be an enlightening journey your entire life if you allow it. Whether it be ritual, spiritual, or just simply the people you meet, every day in Masonry is an amazing journey.

After Balloting, how long does a candidate have to wait before initiation to first degree?

Yes, once you have been elected to receive the degrees, there is no specified wait time ... at least as far as I've ever heard. In our case, our stated meeting is the first Tuesday, and if we pass a favorable ballot on someone, we usually do his EA the next Tuesday unless we already have a...

    Straight,Safety, Or Disposable Razor

I guess I have shaved with the new setup three times now. Each time gets easier and gives a better shave. I'm liking it pretty well. I agree with the mug and brush adding a nice touch. The brush on the face is feels pretty good, and the later smells nice!

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

I agree with trysquare. Our stated business meetings are for the business of the Lodge. Occasionally there are opportunities for other things, but our plate is pretty full with communications, reading petitions, balloting, scheduling, etc. So far this year, we have opened the Lodge 18 times; 7...

What would you like to see changed in the Masonic experience?

I don't see American Masonry getting over the teetotaler stance, especially in the South, in our lifetime. It wasn't until about 20 years ago in my state that you couldn't even work somewhere that sold alcohol. I'm sure it wasn't changed even then because of a desire to do it; it was probably...

    Straight,Safety, Or Disposable Razor

I bought a decent (it seems) set at Wal-Mart today. It's made by Van Der Hagen. Although I prefer not to buy Chinese products, and I know a good German-made razor should be better, I figured this would be a good set to see if I like it. I got a razor, blades, mug, soap, brush, and stand for...

    Straight,Safety, Or Disposable Razor

Thanks. I'm curious about some of the steps involved shaving this way. I certainly don't want to turn what I already consider a distasteful waste of time into a time consuming ritual (my shave prep is to get out of the shower and shave, which takes 2 minutes tops), and I don't want to get tied...

What is a good DE set and where do you shop? I've been thinking about venturing into the DE realm because I'm tired of shelling out for cartridges. Shaving isn't important to me, it's a general (figurative) pain. The only reason I shave is because I don't want a beard. I don't have any...

    License plates... yea or nay?

Tennessee has Masonic plates, but I do not have one. I think it is an additional $25 a year (a portion of which goes to the GL). I'd rather just give that money to my own lodge each year. I seriously doubt that you'd catch too much grief over having the plates. There might be the occasional nut...
